Marshall's POV
I woke up the next morning to find Robyn still laying with her head on my shoulder and her arm across my lap. I could smell her candy scented perfume due to our close proximity. It was intoxicating. Quietly I took in a deep breath; taking in as much of the scent as possible. Robyn was probably going to sleep for the rest of the day, our next show isn't till a few days when we reach New York.
I came up with a plan to escape from under Rihanna but not wake her up. Slowly I raised up her body off of mine. As quietly as possible I stood up off the couch, then placed Robyn down slowly on a pillow. I took a sigh of relief after my mission was a success.
I walked over to the mini fridge and started my morning the same as any other, with a red bull. I let the liquid spill slowly down my throat. I glanced over at the clock. It was only 7:00 AM, and we weren't scheduled to stop and get breakfast till nine. I groaned quietly to myself, how was I going to entertain myself for two hours.
I sat on the far end of the couch, carful not to wake Robyn, and turned on NFL network. Football was able to keep me entertained enough for a little while. I watched as men in nicely dressed suits chatted about the highlights of the game last night. The bus began to shake as we road over the bumpy highway. I glanced over at Rihanna as she shuffled in her sleep. Part of me wanted her to wake up so I had someone to talk too. It was weird though. Normally I'd call up proof or one of the other members of D12 if I wanted to talk. Since the divorce I have never wanted to talk to women, but Robyn was an exception. Me and her had been friends for a few years now so talking to her was just natural by now.
We went over another fairly large bump and surely that was enough to jerk the deep sleeper enough to wake up. "Ugh, don't these people know how to drive." Rihanna groaned moving in to a sitting up position beside me.
"Guess not." I shrugged staring at the tired look on her face.
"What time is it? What time do we stop for breakfast?" She rubbed her eyes with her tattoo covered hand, like a child.
"It's 7:30 now, and breakfast isn't till 9:00."
"Great, so we have a whole hour and a half to blow before we can eat.. What on earth are we going to do?" She rolled her eyes at me. Rihanna leaned an elbow on the back of the couch and looked up at me for an answer.
"Well if you think about it we will arrive in New York for the next show in about 3 days. Me and you are gonna be on this bus for a lot longer then 2 hours." I stated bluntly. I hated road trips to be honest. I hated sitting in this box for hours on end bored out of my mind. We can't take a plane because that would cost the concert directors to much money to rent a whole plane out; and we can't take a normal plane because of the crazy fans. Rihanna seemed to not have liked my answer to her question because she stuck out her pouty lips at me.
"Alright, alright Rihanna. We can play a game." I suggested feeling guilty about my earlier statement. Normally I wouldn't give a fuck what a girl felt, but Robyn had a way of making you care. She looked at me suspicious before speaking again.
"A game?"
"Yeah like a board game, there's boat loads of them in that cabinet over there." I pointed to my side at a large shiny black cabinet, filled to the brim with board games. Rihanna rose up from the couch and walked over to the cabinet. Throwing the door open she inspected the contents of cabinet. I watched her as she glided her small tattooed covered hand over the boxes. After a few minutes she pulled out a long white box with colorful pictures spread across it. Rihanna set it at the table, with a smile across her face. I pushed myself off the couch and decided to join her at the small table.
"really Candy Land?" I said as she began to set up the game. The board was covered in colorful squares and overly happy cartoon characters. I often would play this game with Whitney. She loves this game, mainly because it's easy. There's no rules involved, the game is based purely on luck.
"Yeah I love Candy Land, I always used to play this when I was younger." She placed her red plastic ginger bread man at the starting point of the board. I grabbed the blue one and placed it beside her's.
"Ladies first." She said handing me a card.
"Ha. Ha. Your so funny." I said sarcastically rolling my eyes. I grabbed the card out of her hand then moved my piece two green spaces.
"You suck at this game." She said laughing.
"How can I suck? it's a game for five year olds?!" I watched as she picked up a card with a pink Popsicle on it. Rihanna moved the little plastic ginger bread man half way up the board. I groaned and grabbed another card.
