In the city of Seoul, there lives a young girl named 'D', D for Da Won, Min Da Won. 22-year- old her, has a massive love for writing fictions, but couldn't present one to the world. Her dreams are big, yet the opportunities she gets to achieve them are nil. What if she couldn't write one? She decides to participate for new writers pick in order to achieve in this field of writing. What happens next? Let's read further.

It's my first time participating for new writers pick. I know there will be many big writers to check on each piece of writing, but if I'm destined to write, then I will pass this level.

She fills in the form, attaches her photo, signs it and then pins her story and posts it to appropriate address. There's also an online participation, so she sends one there too. With much hope, she waits for 2 more weeks to hear from them, but nothing notified. Still, she doesn't lose hope.

One fine night, she receives a call just after her dinner saying that they are from the Seoul publishing company and they wanted to meet her as soon as possible. D couldn't think of anything else and directly accepts it without asking further details. The next day, as she said on the phone, she goes to meet them in a luxurious hotel which was naturally their choice not hers. She reaches there on time, but the person she has to meet is already seated on the reserved table that caller had mentioned on the phone the previous day. She takes her seat opposite to the person and places her mini bag aside on the table. The person is not much older than her, but nearly same age and turns out to be a female with a short hair and wore a bucket hat that almost tucked her sight. D waits for her to begin the conversation, but the girl didn't even introduce herself.

I slightly cleared my throat and spoke up, "may I know you?" But she changed from introduction part to the real conversation that we are supposed to have here.

"Your story has been accepted among the list of other stories sent lately."

I nodded patiently without showing off my excitement. She then continued after reading my face.

"So, do you know what happens to your story after they get selected?" Her voice firm and passionate in its own unique way seemed very professional to me. She surely must be from big company which I'm not aware of.

I nodded again saying no.

"Either it remains in the list or gets chosen by editors, but your story is lucky enough to attract editors eye." She says with no noticeable expression.

D corrects her words saying, "it's not my story that's lucky enough, it's me. Without me, my story would have never born. I'm the luckiest one here."

The girl doesn't seem to have any interest in D nor with her story. She was asked to meet her, by her boss and bring her to the office. As directed, she does the same and asks D about meeting her boss who is an editor.

"My boss personally seems to have interest in your story and she wants to meet you as soon as possible. If you agree to this, you can meet her today." She says.

"Today?" D asks back shockingly.

The girl doesn't seem to respond to D's question and waits to hear a reply from her. D takes few seconds to think about it and then agrees. " Fine, let's meet her."

About twenty minutes away from the restaurant stands the editors office, one of the skyscrapers in the whole city. D moves her sight up to the high end of the building but doesn't succeeds in seeing the tip, as the sunlight reflects her sight badly making her go blind temporarily for few seconds. They both walks inside, takes an elevator and then the girl guides her to the boss's cabin and walks back. The editing company is indeed very luxurious, but D didn't come across them until today. As she opens the door, a lady facing her back to D, asks her to take her seat. Once D settles down, the lady turns back and walks closer to her and stops at a particular distance, enough for a good conversation to start.
