chapter twenty

Marks pov

That's Australian. I have had yet to hear an Australian accent up until now. I mean usually everyone has a similar accent so why is this guy different? And why is his voice so damn deep?

"Are you Australian?" The guy seemed a little surprised by my question. "Hey it's a little chilly outside, you really should change into some pants."

The sudden topic change had me even more suspicious of this guy. He was right though, I really should be wearing shorts like this out at night.

...but I don't exactly have pants here to change into. "See the thing is..."
The taller guard suddenly spoke up.

"If you don't have pants I can see if there's any small guard uniform pants you can Barrow." Of course I accepted Kai's offer. Once I accepted he walked off.

I mean the guard uniform was just black jeans and a black button up so the uniform pants would looked pretty normal with my outfit. I kind of wish I had a hoodie on though since Felix said it's cold.

"Hey Chenle? Can you get me a hoodie please?" I smiled when the boy ran off without saying anything.

Once he was gone I turned my attention to Felix. We were left alone since the guy by the door had left once he brought us the two guards.

"Where are you from?" The guard didn't answer my question but instead shot a question right back at me. "How do you know about Australia?"

Hey I asked a question first. I should probably be nice about this if I want answers out of him though so I just answered him. "I know basic geography, I mean it's a continent."

Felix looked around before speaking again. "Your not from here either are you?" Holy shit he's a portal hopper.

"I'm From Canada. Spent most my life in Korea though." Felix seemed a little amused by my answer.

"We definitely have flipped stories. I'm from Australia and spent most my life there. I moved to Korea for a job." Wait so how did he end up here in Tobermory?

I wish I could have asked but Chenle suddenly came running back. He handed me a grey hoodie. I quickly thanked him of course.

Soon after he gave me the hoodie Kai came back with a pair of black pants. "These are from one of are smaller guards, sorry if they're tight."

I mean I didn't mind skinny jeans. "Here, I'll lead you to a bathroom." I was startled when Felix suddenly grabbed my wrist.

He pulled my down a hallway and into a room. I was a little embarrassed when he locked the door behind us. He really just came into the bathroom with me.

"I'll turn around, but I want to keep talking." I was relieved when the Australian turned to face the door. I had a little more faith in him than Johnny to not turn around so I turned as well.

It would have been uncomfortable to face him while I dressed. I'd probably have to face Johnny though If I changed in the same room as him, horny bastard.

"So if your not from here how are you a hybrid?" I shrugged, I didn't really know. When I remembered Felix couldn't see me shrug I actually spoke.

"I have no clue, I mean there's another dimension where if I go in I have straight up lighting powers, so this is pretty normal." I guess my power in this dimension is being a hybrid?
