It was a usual day for Jeongguk as he woke up in his warm bed with a groan. He reached for his phone to turn off the irritating alarm and threw his phone onto the floor, frustrated.
School started a week ago after Christmas vacation, and he hadn't gotten used to waking up early again. Well, he would never get used to that.
He hated waking up early in the morning, and especially when he had only slept four hours since he was too addicted to the game he was playing until late last night, and no matter how tired he was, he couldn't stop playing.
Another boring day, another frustrating ride with the bus, another sleepless day. Great. With this thought, he crawled out of bed to get ready.
A while later, arrayed in whatever he found first, he dragged his feet towards the kitchen. "Good morning."
"I'll never get used to your morning face. You look so grumpy!" his mother, Mirae said and placed a small kiss on his forehead.
"It's not just my face. I am grumpy every morning," he mumbled as he neared the table to grab some snacks to take with him to school.
"If you hadn't stayed up almost all night to play games, maybe you wouldn't be," she said with a raised brow, a hint of irony lacing her words.
"Whatever. School is boring and that's reason enough to be grumpy." He poured some coffee into a plastic cup as he did every morning, and he was ready to go.
"Eat something. I made waffles." She sighed, already knowing his answer.
"No time. And you know I never eat breakfast. I just need my coffee." Jeongguk gave her a kiss on her cheek. "See you later."
His mother couldn't drive him to school every day, so he had to take a bus, something that was rather frustrating for him because the ride with the bus was about twenty-five minutes, while with the car was only fifteen minutes.
With a sigh, he got on the bus, earphones already in use with chill music playing, and sipped his coffee here and there. He usually couldn't find a seat, so a bunch of people bumped into him, pissing him off every time, but he always wore an affable smile on his face while saying that it was okay.
Finally arriving at the school gates, he threw the now empty plastic cup into the trash can and sauntered inside. His first class was dance history, and he was already whining internally. He didn’t like studying overall and his teacher for this class was an absolute bitch. Mrs. Woo or old hag as he and his friends called her. Well, not in her face of course.
"You’re late as always," Namjoon snickered.
Jeongguk looked at him with a bored expression as he sat at his desk at the back of the classroom. "What? We still have five minutes before the class starts."
"He only cares about the dance classes, don't you know him already?" Seokjin, who was sitting with Namjoon at the desk in front of Jeongguk's, chimed in with a chuckle.
Jeongguk was about to say something when a running Jimin burst into the classroom with Yoongi trailing behind him. "Guys, guys, guys!" he whisper-yelled through his panting, his wild eyes roaming on his friends.
