As they had planned, Taehyung went to the younger's house, and Mirae couldn't be more excited about seeing him again; she was very fond of him."Hello, Mirae," Taehyung greeted happily once she opened the door.
"Hi! It's good to see you again." She ventured to give him a brief hug which Taehyung accepted with relish. "What do you want to drink? Coffee? Beer? Wine?"
"Coffee would be good. It's still early."
Jeongguk bobbed into the room with a cup of coffee in his hands. "Here you go."
"How did you know he wanted coffee?" Mirae asked, amazed.
Ignoring her inquiry, he placed the cup on the living room table and smiled at him. "Hi."
"Hey, you."
Mirae observed the scene in front of her in awe. "Last time I saw you two together you were ready to kill each other."
"Exaggerating much?" Jeongguk snorted.
"Maybe a little," Mirae said with a shrug as she sat into the armchair. "What changed?"
"Nothing, we just talked and sorted everything out." Jeongguk avoided eye contact, something that made him look rather suspicious to Mirae, but she didn't say anything.
"So Taehyung, how is everything going?"
"Good, really good. The house is amazing too. I like it more and more every day. I know that thanking you isn't enough, but I'm really grateful for what you did."
"Don't even mention it. I'm just glad you like it so much." She reassured with a grin and redirected her eyes to her son. "Jeongguk, when was the last time you saw Taehyung's apartment?"
The younger almost choked on his spit. "What kind of question is that?" he spluttered, a rush of anxiety stiffening his muscles and causing his heartbeat to hike up. He didn't even know what to say. Hey mom, my teacher fucks me. Yeah, that didn't sound so good. Jeongguk was void of any idea of what they were, so it'd be impossible to explain anything to his mother.
"It was just a question, Kookie." Her sweet-spoken remark was accompanied by a faint, sly smile. "No need to be so tense. Oh and also, you should show what you drew this morning to Taehyung. I'm sure he'll like it."
"Mom! Why were you in my room again?"
"Take your laundry out of your room so I won't have to go in."
"Wait, what did you draw?" Taehyung asked, biting back a smile.
"Nothing, just a stupid sketch."
"Yeah, right," Mirae snickered, and her eyes flitted to her phone as it began ringing. "I'll be back." She grabbed it from the table and scuttled off to the kitchen.
Taehyung sneaked an arm around his waist and edged closer to plant a kiss on his cheek but halted when Jeongguk shied away from his touch.
"My mom is here."
"Sorry." His discontent was well defined in his deep frown and the sigh that spewed from his mouth. "I don't even get a kiss?"
"No, she can come back at any minute."
"What's so wrong about your mom finding out? She likes me ,anyway."
"What am I supposed to tell her? That I fuck with my teacher?"
"No, you can tell her—"
"Guys, sorry, but I have to go for a while. A friend asked me for help and I have to find a place for her to stay today."
