"I mean; I didn't think there was anything too wrong with that one."

"It was in the basement of the old soap factory and I think the receptionist was literally twelve." We had been walking around the city center for almost two hours. Searching for a place for Jonas' to fix his newly-added tattoo. Whilst in Cambodia he had paid almost 100 pounds to get a "healing tattoo" that faded faster than the tan he got there. I didn't even want to think about how much he paid them with the currency exchange. The blue sky that we started our journey with was now transforming into a soft grey. The fading of the sunlight had also meant the fading of the heat; I pulled my jacket tighter around me as thechilly, early October air forming a blanket around me.

"You didn't have to stop going to Sin's." I finally said, knowing we were in this mess because of me.

"Of course I did, solidarity sister." He said raising his fist. "I mean you stopped going to Benny's Bistro for me because I broke up with Angie, and Starbucks on Elm street because of James and you switched bus stops because of Leslie, so this was the least I could do."

"Yeah, that reminds me, give me at least two weeks' notice if you're going to end things with Will so I can find another job."

"Hardy-har-har." He said, glancing back down at the Google Maps page he had pulled up on his phone.

"You can go to Sin's, me and Louis seem pretty civil from what I can tell. I doubt he's going to avenge our break-up on your skin."

"I didn't even think of that; but I'll just find another tattoo place because I don't want him to take this as I'm Switzerland. I am team Wendy, to my deathbed."

"And I'm not going to second guess it." I laughed. We walked in silence towards the car, our footsteps getting lost amongst the people we passed.

"Act natural." Jonas gritted through his teeth.

"What?" Scanning the area in front of us only to land on Liam. Out of all of his friends, I was most intimated by him and we never "connected". I was hoping we could just pass each other with a curtesy wave, and doing that white-person tight smile but just in my luck. He did a double-take when his eyes landed on us and he diverted his step to block out path.

"Wendy, hello. Hello Jonas."

"Hey, what's up?" I replied awkwardly, my voice hallowing out to the point where I sounded like I was going to throw up. Jonas gave me a side-eye, realizing he would have to carry the conversation.

"Mate, great to see you again. Where you off to?"

Liam lifted the bag of food he was holding. "Off to Dani's. What have you lot been up to?"

"Just getting some fresh air before this one has to head in for her shift?" Liam turned to me once again.

"Where you working now."

"The astronomy dome." I responded scrupulously, slightly frustrated the conversation was brought back to me. "Which reminds me I should be heading there now. It was great to see you Liam." I swallowed down my awkwardness.

"Yeah, nice seeing you both!" As we parted ways, I let out the breath I was holding, eying Jonas' snickering form.

"How did you form sentences before meeting me?"

The autumn has dressed herself for the coming season, donning her most vibrant hues. It was a particularly windy day and I watched the leaves chase each other in a game of vicious tag. The clock above my head ticked softly as I desperately waited for it to chime eight so I could high-tail it out of this place. Trying to entertain myself I flipped in the swivel seat I was occupying, my fingers firmly touching the rough carpet, directing my body left and right.
