Even if it's 1,629 miles away

~ CHAPTER 4 ~

Vanya and her friends arrived safely at New York City and it was... interesting...

~ VANYA'S P.O.V ~

We woke up at around 10:20 am. We decided to get brunch at a restaurant called "La Pizza".

After brunch, we went to The Times Square to take some pictures then we went back to the hotel to check out the the pool.

"Wow they even have an infinity pool!" Sasha said in awe.

"Let's go get changed so we can swim." Mae said while patting Sasha's back.

We changed into our swimsuits... well, some of us did.

Me, Anne and Lexi weren't in the mood to swim right now. I changed into a plain white oversized shirt and shorts.

We headed to the rooftop where the pool was. Sasha and Naomi immediately jumped in like a bunch of kids.

Me, Anne and Lexi sat on the pool chairs and watched them play around.

"I give up, i'm just gonna dip my feet in the water." I said while giggling.

"I knew you would give in." Lexi replied.

I went to the side of the pool and sat with my feet dipped in.

"Anya! why aren't you swimming with us?" Mae shouted.

"I think she prefers swimming in beaches and rivers rather than pools." Anne replied.

I nodded in return. "Yup she's right."

"Well what about Lex and Anne?" Sasha asked.

Abby replied, "Oh they're just lazy." then we all laughed at Abby's comment.

After a few hours, we went back to our room.

Me and Abby decided to go have a night stroll and buy dinner. We bought instant noodles and a few cans of beer from a nearby convenience store since everyone was still a bit full.

We were walking back to our hotel when we heard footsteps behind us. We walked a bit faster but then the sound of footsteps grew closer. We turned around and it was a tall, pale man. He reached his hand out... he was holding a wallet... wait, MY wallet!

"You dropped this miss, i'm sorry i couldn't shout to get your attention, my throat is not in good condition right now." The man said as he gave me my wallet.

"Thank you so much sir! My friend is really clumsy sometimes." Abby replies.

All I could say was "Thank you." I was still in shock after all. He just smiled at us then he left.

"Give me a can, i badly need a drink." I told Abby as I let out a sigh.

"That almost gave me a heart attack!" She shouts as she hands me a can.

"Honestly, I almost peed my pants." I told her to lighten the mood. She just laughs in response.

We arrived at the hotel and told them what happened.

"I'm surprised Abby didn't kick his ass." Anne said jokingly.

"I'm more surprised at the fact that Anya didn't scream her lungs out." Naomi mentioned as she took a large bite of her noodles.

"I drank a whole can of beer to calm down instead." I said while chuckling.

"Well then that explains why you were waddling like a duck earlier." Sasha replies.

We all bursted into laughter.

After eating, we went to sleep to get ready for some sightseeing tomorrow.
