Tammy and I sat in our room - me on my bed, and Tammy on a chair by her desk.
"So - your first day." I say to her.
"Yeah?" She replies, glancing at me in confusion.
"Well... what do you think? Of the house, my friends - everything?"
She pauses, thinking about my question.
"The house looks great! I love the landing, and the kitchen-"
"Oh the kitchen is Dorian's domain - she makes all the food for us. If you want to cook something specific, you need to ask her first."
"Okay!" Tammy chuckles, imagining Dorian equipped with oven mitts and spatulas, defending her domain. "But yeah, I really like the house. Your friends are... unique?"
"Unique in a good way or a bad way?" I ask, tensing up. If Tammy doesn't like my friends, then...
"A good way!" She says while I sigh in relief.
"Can you tell me what you think of them?" I ask.
"Umm, okay." She starts, surprised I asked her a weird question like that out of nowhere. "Well let's start with Luna. She was the first person I met, and we instantly clicked."
I laugh, remembering the previous night, both of them on the couch watching Buffy together. I personally never got into it, so I'm glad they're able to enjoy the series together.
"I know she'll have my back if I need it. I mean - I've seen her with a bloody weapon, I can trust her to protect us."
"Aww, that's so nice!" I say, wiping away happy tears. "How about Dorian and Slime?"
"Well I haven't spent much time with them yet so I can't say much - but I feel super comfortable around Dorian and I can't wait to get to know Slime better."
"Yeah - you haven't really seen either of them yet." I mutter, remembering that Slime only showed up after Luna and Tammy started their marathon of Buffy. "Slime's part time job is weekdays from 2pm to 7pm, so you'll be able to see her more in the mornings and weekends. Dorian's part time job is more diverse - she's a waitress at a nearby restaurant so she works evenings - from 4pm to 9pm - on various days. Her work days change every week, but in general she works 3 days a week, normally including a weekend day."
"I know about your part time job, but what about Luna's?"
"Oh - Luna doesn't have a part time job. She tried to persuade us, but we said she can live here for free."
"How come?"
"Well - we don't really need more blood on our hands. Most part time jobs will involve a lot of annoying people and bosses - and Luna doesn't have the best temper. Besides, she helps with housework and protects the home. Her job is being our bodyguard!" I laugh, and Tammy laughs too.
"Anyways, you should head to bed Tammy." I say, pointing to the clock, which read 11pm.
"But you normally go to bed super early?" She says to me in confusion.
"I, uhh... have been sleeping a bit later in the evening recently." I reply, before hauling myself off the bed. "Anyway, I have some things to do before going to sleep, so don't wait up for me."
As I leave the room, I hear Tammy shuffling around - probably popping her pyjamas on. I sigh, and head down to the living room. Unsurprisingly, Luna is still up.
She greets me when I walk in: "Hi, Peachy!"
I glance at her, and Luna immediately tenses up. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing Luna, but... is it alright if I have the living room to myself for a bit?" I ask. Normally Luna would refuse, but she could probably sense that I needed the space. She nods, and heads to her room.
For the first few minutes I sit on the couch in silence, making sure no one else is nearby. Then I stand up and begin my evening practises.

The Tyekwondo moves flash in my head, as I twist, back and forth, punching, blocking, kicking, striking, moving, repeating. The hours fly by, as I refuse to take breaks, the moves demanding to be done. What I haven't yet told anyone, is that after I got shot in the arm - even though it was only really a graze - I've been having terrible nightmares that have been keeping me up at night.
Because of this I've completely changed my sleep schedule. Whenever both Slime and Dorian are at work, I send Luna on a 'grocery trip', and try and get some sleep. I normally wake up screaming before anyone returns. Slime caught me once, and I just said I must've fallen asleep after reading r/nosleep on Reddit.
Other than that - I don't sleep.
I'm honestly really grateful for it - I've been able to spend that time I spent sleeping doing something actually productive. Hopefully soon I'll be trained enough to use my combat abilities out in the field. Not to mention it also brings down my body weight to something more attractive.
The alarm flashes on my phone.
3:32am.
I shoot up, and rush into the kitchen, frantically dabbing at my forehead with a cloth, to get rid of the shiny sweat.
I hear the floorboards creak.
"Crap!" I mutter, grabbing the deodorant in the kitchen drawer, and spray around me to mask the sweat. I attempt to run back into the living room, but Luna beats me to it, making me stop my tracks in the hallway.
"Peachy? You're still up?"
I laugh awkwardly, trying to look like I hadn't just been running from the kitchen into the living room. "Haha, yeah... so, about that movie-"
My feet slip. I wasn't paying enough attention to the hallway floorboards, and I slipped on the remainder sweat from my forehead and hairline that had dripped onto the floor. I only have my socks on so I can't stop myself from falling.
I hear a loud CRACK as my head collides with something and can see Luna frantically dashing over to me as my eyes close.
"... shit..." I mutter, falling unconscious.
Bet ya didn't expect a new update so soon, huh? Well PEACHY DELIVERS BITCHES!
Hope you guys enjoyed haha, and don't worry, I'll try to help... myself... get better XD
But for now...
Peachy out! 😊
