"We've been traveling for weeks I think we should try and find some place to rest." Simon said before plopping himself down by a nearby lake.
Miranda sighed as she rolled her eyes at Simon. "This forest is filled with creatures that are possessed by the moon finding 'some place to rest' is not an option." Miranda responded while yanking Simon upwards by his arm.
"Miranda's right Simon not to mention that it's only been 5 days." Athena said patting her old friend on the shoulders. Which caused Simon to roll his eyes as he continued to follow Athena and Miranda through the forest.
"Ouch." Miranda mumbled as she held the palm of her hand before fainting.
"Oh great, now we're all going to die!" Simon exclaimed as he held both sides of his head.
"Shut up Simon!" Athena screamed prior to rushing to Miranda's aid.
"She's burning up." Athena stated while turning her gaze to Simon.
"I think she touched the rose of death." Simon replied horrified. As he pointed to the black rose that was lying on the ground.
"I can heal her but she's going to need to rest awhile." Athena said placing her hand above Miranda's forehead. Before she began humming an ancient tune.
"Athena, I don't feel safe just sitting around the forest like this." Simon stated while fidgeting his fingers. "It's also starting to get dark and.." he tried saying. Before he was cut off by wolves howling in the distance.
"I'm almost done." Athena said as she continued chanting.
"If we don't leave now we'll be dead before you finish!" Simon exclaimed nervously. As he began looking around his surroundings like a mad man.
The nearby bushes quickly began to whistle. Before Simon and Athena heard footsteps coming towards them. Athena quickly sprung to her feet before drawing Miranda's sword from her unconscious body. As they waited for their unexpected visitor to show it's face.
"What are you guys doing in the forest this late at night?" An old woman asked while narrowing her old green weary eyes upon Athena. Who held the sword above her head ready to attack whoever it was that was behind the bushes.
' So much for it being a wolf.'
"Oh thank god!" Simon exclaimed as he held his chest. "I thought I was going to die." he added which earned him a scowl from Athena.
"You will, if y'all don't get out of here." the old woman responded. As her eyes drifted to Miranda lying on the floor. The wolves howled again but this time it sounded even closer. Simon jumped slightly as he bit the tip of his fingers nervously. "I have a cottage just around the river bend grab your friend and let's go." The old woman said walking ahead of them.
