"You are absolutely ludicrous!" I shouted which caused the walls in the room to shake. "It'll be a cold day in hell before I marry a dog, a blood sucking creature or better yet a stupid fire breathing abomination!" I exclaimed angrily.

My blood was boiling at this point curse you stupid Elders for abandoning our people. And taking my ability to dictate my own life along with you. Why did we have to be last on the food chains? We don't even need this stupid alliance with those vicious creatures.

Who am I kidding ? Yes we do our very existence depends on it. And I just had to be the one they throw at the feet of our enemies.

"You owe us! your entire being was the cause for the Elders to abandon us in the first place!" Josephine exclaimed while glaring at me.

You know those feelings when you have the urge to cry. And there's this huge budge in your throat? Yeah, that would describe my current mood right now. I hated that I was so vulnerable towards this topic.

"Well if this alliance means so much to you why don't you marry one of those vicious animals!" I screamed.

"Enough!" Victor shouted. As he made his way towards the middle of the room.

Always had to be so dramatic.

"Princess, I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice." he said with a smug look on his face.

I always hated him if I'm being honest. I mean, here he was acting as if he was the most noble creature. When his stupid friends are trying to marry me off to the highest bidder.

"You see.." he trailed off before looking at the opposite end of the room. I guess we're suppose to follow his gaze.

So darn dramatic. Though, there was something in the back of my mind telling me that something was off. I completely ignored it.

I mentally rolled my eyes before following his gaze. My eyes immediately widened in fright I could not believe what I was seeing. Any strength that I had to keep my tears at surface. Was now completely out the window.

My mouth ran dry just by the mere sight before me. I watched intensely as his goons pulled my dear mother in the room. Her once perfect sun kissed skin was now filled with nothing but scars. Her lips were busted and her eyes were coated with bags. You could see the pain in them.

I cried silently as they dragged her further into the room. With shackles on her hands, feet and around her neck. The sight was too much for me to take in. I quickly covered my mouth trying to muffle my cries. Before turning my head to the other side of the room.

My eyes burned with hot tears just by seeing her so vulnerable, so weak, so battered. My mother. The woman who has nourished me, protected me, my very savior. In a time when she needed my protection from 'our' people. I was no where to her rescue.

"You will marry one of 'those vicious creatures' as you put it. Or our lovely Athena here, will pay the price." he said nonchalantly. As if he had no care in the world.

Our very own people had betrayed us, betrayed her, the woman who has stood by them and fought for them, our people.

And for what?! so they could threaten her mere existence over a stupid alliance. They will pay for this, and that's a promise. For every tear that they allowed to fall from her eyes. There will be gruesome consequences.

Anger consumed my subconsciousness all I could see, smell and taste was blood. If it's a war that they want they shall receive it.
