The next morning I decided on wearing a white long sleeve crop top. I also slipped on black high waisted shorts. I only wore long sleeves to hide the cuts. I then curled my blonde hair and did some natural looking makeup. I slipped on some white TOMs and grabbed my bag and purse.
I was riding with the Hyland’s today. I said goodbye to my younger sisters and walked downstairs.
"I’M LEAVING” I yelled.
“DON’T CARE” I heard Mom yell back, I sighed and walked out. I walked next door and opened the door, walking in.
“HELLO HYLAND’S” I yelled.
Down ran the three Hyland kids and Kelly.
“Hey Autie” they all smiled and so did I.
Josh looked at me weird, he knew why I wore long sleeves.
“Autie dear why on Earth are you wearing long sleeves?” Kelly asked me.
“Because I get cold in class” I easily lied, she nodded. I could tell Josh didn’t buy it.
“Are things okay at home?” she asked.
I pictured Kelly as more of a mom than my mom.
“Uhm Kelly can I talk to you alone?” I asked.
"Of course, kids get out” she demanded, they walked into the living room, leaving us alone.
“What is it sweetie?” she asked.
I told her the same thing I said to Josh yesterday.
“Awh Autumn you know you can come over whenever you like” she said wrapping her arms around me.
“Thank you Kelly” I said.
“Anytime” she smiled.
“KIDS LET’S GO” she yelled. We all climbed into her van.
“Autumn I convinced Josh to ask you out at lunch” Paige whispered.
“Don’t worry everybody in the school knew he didn’t really like Chloe, they all knew he liked you” Brooke whispered. I smiled.
“So say yes” Paige said, I nodded.
At lunch, Josh asked me to go to the park again and I agreed. We sat on the same bench that we did yesterday.
“Autumn you are not my rebound trust me” Josh said looking me in the eye.
“Will you do me the honors of being my girlfriend?” he asked.
“Yes” I smiled crashing my lips onto his. I felt the same sparks that I did yesterday.
We both pulled away and just sat there in silence, but it was a comfortable silence.
"I’m so glad we came back” I said breaking the silence.
“Why?” he asked.
“Because I am with my best friends again” I said.
“But what about the event that caused you to move back?” he asked.
“I try to think of that as little as possible” I said, Josh nodded and my phone started ringing.
“Hello?” I answered it.
“Addie and Maddie are in the hospital” It was Summer I froze and hung up.
“They’re in the hospital” was all I could say before sprinting all the way to the hospital. I ran in and walked up to the front desk.
“Maddison and Addison Parker” I said.
“Third floor room 335” I nodded and ran all the way up the stairs and to their room, I ran in and saw them laying lifeless on two separate beds.
I saw Mom sitting in a chair.
“What the hell Mom!?” I yelled at her. She wasn’t even crying, she was probably wishing they would die.
“They ran out of the house and a car hit them” she shrugged.
“You’re suppose to be fucking watching them, they’re your children for crying out loud” I yelled at her.
“I have told you before, I didn’t want them and I don’t want YOU” she yelled at me.
“How can you fucking say that!? How can a mother not love her children?” I asked.
“It’s pretty simple, you and them are moving in to the Hyland’s goodbye” Mom walked out of the room. I sighed and turned to look at my two sisters.
A doctor walked in. “Are they going to be okay?” I asked.
“They’re in a coma right now, they may live they may not” he said.
"We are doing all we can to help them. They are actually about to go into surgery and after the surgery they should wake up within a day or two” he said, I nodded and he took them away.
I really had to get back to school. I ran all the way to school and walked to the class I was supposed to be in.
As I walked in everybody stared at me as I handed the teacher my pass and took my seat in the back beside Paige.
“How are they?” she asked.
“They were about to go to surgery and would wake up in a day or two, he’s gonna call me when they wake up” I said, she nodded.
After dance, Kelly informed me that she had moved in all my things and that I would be sharing a room with Paige and Addison and Maddison would share a room.
I walked up to Paige’s room, man her room was HUGE. I changed into a pair of pajama pants and a sweatshirt.
Me and Paige both climbed into bed.
"I’m tired” I yawned.
“Same” she said.
We both fell asleep shortly after that.
The next morning I woke to see Paige already up.
“You can use my other bathroom” she said, I nodded and walked over to her bathroom. After my shower I got dressed in a high low spaghetti strap dress. I slipped on my cowgirl boots and then I curled my hair and then waterfall braided it. I did my makeup.
“You look so cute” Paige gushed. She was wearing a red short sleeve shirt. She also had dark wash short shorts on and red flipflops. Her hair was curled.
“So do you girl” I laughed and grabbed my bookbag, purse, and phone. We walked downstairs and into the kitchen, where everybody was.
“Autie your mother and sister left” Randy spoke slowly.
