Logan point of view

"Hey, you two ready to order?"

I turned to Cece one more time. We both smiled.

"Yeah, we're ready." I said.

We both sat down in the booth and told the waiter our order. Then, after he wrote it down and walked away, it was just me and Cece. We were both very silent.

'Should I say something?' I thought to myself. From the look on her face, it seemed like Cece was thinking the same exact thing.

"So... how exactly do you want to play this?" Cece asked.

I never really thought of that. Then I got an idea.

"How about we just pretend that we never met before, and this is our first time getting to know each other." I suggested.

Her face lite up at my suggestion.

"Yeah sure! Let's do that!" She responded smiling.

"Okay!" I exclaimed.

We both settled down in our seats and I sat up a bit straighter.

"So, Cece Jones," I said. "Tell me about yourself."

"Well," She said, pretending to be deep in thought. "I go to John Hughes High School, I'm a dancer on 'Shake It Up-Chicago!', and I'm hoping to become a professional dancer for a career."

"Really?" I said, surprised. I didn't know Cece wanted to become a dancer. I mean, I know that she liked to dance, and all, but I didn't know that she was so serious about it.

I didn't know she was that serious about anything!

"Yeah." She replied. "How about you, Logan Hunter?"

"Well," I began. "I go to Grove High School, I like to play badminton, and I am the manager of a kabob store."

We were both silent for a few seconds, until I added:

"Wow, I just realized that my life is so dull compared to yours."

We both cracked up laughing.

"It's not THAT dull." Cece said, after we were both done laughing.

"Yeah, I guess." I replied. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask. How come you don't live with your dad?"

"Oh, my parents got divorced a long time ago." She exclaimed. "My dad lives in Florida."

"Oh, sorry to hear that." I apologized.

"It's okay." Cece said. "They still get along really well, and my dad does come to visit every now and then."

Then she added:

"How come you don't live with your mom?

I froze. This wasn't something that was easy for me to talk about. In fact, I rarely talk about my mom at all. I never even told Rocky when we were dating!

She must have noticed that I was disturbed by this, because then she changed her mind.

"Sorry! Just forget it! Forget I asked!"

"No, it's okay." I said. "It's not something that's easy for me to talk about. But, since we've known each other for a while, and we've been through a lot together, you should know sooner or later. We were almost siblings, after all."

I took a deep breath before I continued.

"My mother died in a car accident years ago. I was only six years old at the time."
