It's All Changed

Volume 3 Ep. 9 - Attacked

I clenched my shirt as I slowly made my way towards Jaune shouting at his teammate. "Pyrrha! Pyrrha, that thing's going to break in! You've gotta move!" Jaune shouted at her.

I looked up at the forcefield and noticed that it was flashing. Without thinking twice, I jumped over the stands and ran to the maiden candidate. Before I could reach her, the Nevermore breaks through the barrier. I speed past her and grabbed one of Penny's sword.

I teleported above the Nevermore and drill the sword into the Nevermore's brain... crashing into the field. I dug the sword in more to be sure. "Y/N?" Pyrrha let out. Suddenly, I felt the Nevermore jerk back alive. "Crap..." I muttered under my breath.

Instantly, lockers landed on the Grimm... as it was now overkilled. One by one, the lockers opened and their respective owners wielded their weapon. I slid down the Nevermore and summoned my locker.

The Nevermore screeched again as everyone jumped off of the Nevermore. Nora came in and pounded her hammer down on its head, stunning it. Delivering the last blow, Yatsuhashi and Sage behead the Grimm.

"Y/N, I... I'm sorry." Pyrrha cried out. I shook my head and turned to her. I patted her shoulder and kneeled in front of her. "Pyrrha, it wasn't your fault." I simply tell her.

"He's right." Jaune comes in holding Pyrrha's javelin and shield. "Whoever was on that microphone... they're the ones that did this. And we have to make sure they don't take anyone else." Jaune continued as I helped Pyrrha up.

Pyrrha takes her weapon from Jaune and I retrieved my weapon from my locker. Suddenly, Griffons appeared on top of the coliseum. They locked eyes on us and let out a roar.

"Griffons." Ren lets out as the said Grimm flys towards us. "Anybody got a plan of attack?" Neptune asks. I look back at Ruby, and we both nodded in determination.

"Sun! I need your scroll!" Ruby called to the monkey Faunus. Ruby summons her locker and it appears in front of her, showing the red-caped girl her scythe. Before she could retrieve it, a Griffon lands on her locker and roars at her.

Suddenly, someone shot at the Griffon and it flew away. It was Professor Port who had shot the Griffon. "Students! I think it would be best for you to leave." Professor Port instructs us. Dr. Oobleck walks up next to Professor Port.

"But we did a -- " "Ms. Rose! This day will surely go down in Remnant's history. I'd prefer it if my students could live to tell about it." Dr. Oobleck cuts her off. Ruby nods and grabs her weapon, twirling it into its scythe form.

"Let's go!" Ruby lets out as we all leave the coliseum. We run out of the coliseum and saw General Ironwood. We stop in front of him. "What's going on, General?" I ask him.

"Grimm are crawling all over the city. The White Fang's invaded Beacon, and to make matters worse, some... vagabond has seized one of my ships. Until we regain command, the skies are out of our control. So I'm..." General Ironwood pauses and shoots a Creep Grim that was planning to attack us from behind.

"Going to take it back." General Ironwood finished. "What should we do?" Jaune asks the General. "You have two choices. Defend your Kingdom and your school... or save yourselves. No one will fault you if you leave." General Ironwood answers. "Y/N, you're with me." He tells me as I nodded and walked up the dropship.

"Let's move out!" General Ironwood orders. I look back at the group. "You guys be safe! I'm coming back for you guys! I promise!" I told the group as the door closes.

The wave of panic and fear still evident in my system as I walk towards General Ironwood. "Ozpin wants you on the ground as fast as possible. When we're above the courtyard, you can drop out." General Ironwood informs me.

"How much time do we have left?" I asked him. The General looks down before looking at me. "Not enough, Y/N." General responds as I nodded. I looked through the window and see the destruction that was too happen.

"Do what must be done, Y/N. The job first, before yourself." General Ironwood tells me. "Right..." I responded. After a few minutes, the doors opened and I peered over the edge. "Landing strategy, Y/N!" General Ironwood reminded me. "I'll see you on the other side, General." I bid him as I dived into the air.

I took my sticks and transformed them into my staff. Before I fell straight to the ground, I brought my staff up and started twirling it to slow my fall. I dropped onto the ground and ran straight for Father's office.

Before I could reach the elevator, I saw Father. "Y/N! Where is Ms. Nikos?" Father urgently asks me. "She's with the group up at the coliseum. By now, they must have reached the academy." I informed him.

"Go get the machine ready, Y/N." He tells me. "But -- " "We don't have enough time! Now go!" Father pushes. I stayed quiet and entered the elevator heading down into the vault. I looked at my staff and detached it.

'This didn't need to happen... but it was inevitable...' I told myself. I put my sticks away as the elevator doors open. I ran to the machine where Ms. Amber was held in. Before I started the machine, I took one last look at Ms. Amber and observed her pained look.

'Hopefully, this will all be better as soon as Pyrrha becomes the new Fall Maiden...'
