Volume 4 Ep. 5 - Punished

-RUBY-

Tyrian pulls his tail back and steps away. Qrow turns around, swinging his weapon and holding at the ready by his side. "As I live and breathe! Qrow Branwen." Tyrian mockingly bows. "A true Huntsman has entered the fray!" He exclaimed.

Ruby gets up and sets Crescent Rose on its end. Qrow glances back at her. "I don't know. This guy's weird." Ruby tells her uncle. "Look, pal, I'm not sure who you are, but you leave my niece alone." Qrow tells the chortling scorpion Faunus.

"Why, friend, my name is Tyrian. And I'm afraid that is not possible." He introduces himself. He places his hands together before gesturing at Ruby. "My assignment from Her Grace was to retrieve this young girl. So, that is what I must do." He claims.

"One does not upset the Queen." Tyrian comments, placing a hand on his chest. "Queen?" Ruby lets out confused. "Salem." Qrow bitterly answers. "Who?" Ruby lets out, still confused. "Hmm, I think we've had enough talk now, don't you?" Tyrian lets out, assuming a crouching position. "You took the words right out of -- "

Tyrian rushes Qrow before he can finish voicing the thought and the two begin fighting. Qrow blocks two strikes with Harbinger, then slashes at Tyrian who jumps trying to pierce Qrow as he lands.

Qrow dodges then swings but Tyrian back-flips away and rushes in. The two continued to clash against each other. As Tyrian blocks, a downward strike pinning him on his knees a roof gets damaged by the shockwave and Tyrian uses his built in guns to get free.

As Qrow blocks the shots with Harbinger Tyrian circles him firing a steady barrage, Ren and Nora join in, but Tyrian catches their sneak attack and dodges then easily knocks them away. He moves to chase them as the two land back near Jaune and Ruby, Qrow intervenes to hold him back.

"Don't come closer!" Qrow warns Team RNJR. The two men continue to fight. "Fine!" Ruby shouts to her uncle. She takes Crescent Rose to the top of the building and waits for an opening to shoot Tyrian. However, both he and Qrow move too fast for her to get a clear shot. Ruby grimaces in frustration.

Qrow blocks a jab from Tyrian's tail then counters, Tyrian parries before retaliating with a slash followed by a kick. Qrow ducks before swinging at the Faunus, who avoids them all. Tyrian uses his tail as a spring to gain altitude as he opens fire again.

Qrow blocks the attack then fires a shot of his own then dodges another thrust. Tyrian manages to uses his tail to disarm Qrow flinging the sword away as he rubs his wrist. This slows things down enough for Ruby to repeatedly shoot at him from the roof, but after the first shot misses an amused Tyrian just deflects each with his tail.

Qrow curls his hands into a fist then switches to punching Tyrian in the face. He groans in pain backing up before Qrow lands a few more hits. With a final kick, he manages to send Tyrian flying and casually moves to retrieve Harbinger from where it embedded in a wall.

Frustrated, Tyrian waits crouched until Qrow has his back turned before striking, but Qrow merely leaps on top of his own weapon and partially changes it to scythe mode.

Using his gun barrels he propels himself to a rooftop, Tyrian follows as their battle continues. Getting to the sight, Y/N perches on top of an abandoned building as another building not too far collapses. "Where are you Tyrian...?" Y/N mutters under his breath.

He surveys the old village and sees Ren, Nora, and Jaune standing by. He then sees Ruby descend to street level. Just as she reaches the building, Qrow comes crashing out through a wall, his body bouncing. He tosses Harbinger which lands with its blade in the ground, and Qrow perches atop it. Red flickers of damaged aura move over his body twice.

Tyrian comes out of the floating dust and grime inside the building, purple flickers moving across his body. As the two begin to strike again, Ruby jumps in between and deflects Tyrian's blades with Crescent Rose. "Ruby!" Jaune shouts.

Ren holds Jaune from moving forward. "Do you wish to be taken?" Tyrian amusingly queried. "No! But I won't stand by and watch someone get hurt!" Ruby replies.

"This is a bit unfair, don't you think?" A voice lets out as the figure lands next to Tyrian. "What are you doing here?! Her Grace sent -- " "Her Grace sent me to aide you, Tyrian." Y/N cuts him off.

Y/N shifts his attention to Ruby and her uncle. Under the mask, his eyes widen. "Is it that silver-eyed girl, Tyrian?" Y/N asks him, pointing at the titled girl with his spear.

"Yes! And she's being quite stubborn!" Tyrian whined. Suddenly, Qrow brings up Harbinger and shoots at the two followers. Tyrian and Y/N easily deflect. "Tyrian... this job should be a piece of cake." Y/N commented.

"Shut up!" Tyrian shouts and charges at both Qrow and Ruby. Tyrian easily parries both Qrow and Ruby. As Tyrian springs into the air, Y/N slides in sweeps under. Knocking both Ruby and Qrow off their feet.

Both uncle and niece are quick on their feet as Tyrian comes in again. The scorpion Faunus attempts to sting Ruby, but Qrow blocks it.

"Ruby! What did I say?! Get back!" Qrow shouts at his nice, giving her a side glance. "This is my fight, too!" Ruby determinedly replies. She goes for the attack on Tyrian while he's still locked blade-to-blade with Qrow, but Y/N swoops in and blocks the attack with his spear.

He pushes on Crescent Rose and spins on his feet, delivering a kick to her gut. She slides closer to a building and gains her ground, but the wooden beam near the roof have been shaken up too much and a heavy one breaks and descends upon her.

Qrow slices it in half so it falls in pieces to either side of Ruby without touching her. She smiles at him in gratitude and affection, and he raises his head from his stance to look at her, only to gasp in pain as he is immediately cut in the abdomen by Tyrian's stinger.

Before Y/N could teleport behind Ruby to knock her out, she cuts off Tyrian's stinger from the rest of Tyrian's tail. It bounces, spurting purple liquid, to the ground. Immediately, Y/N retreats back to Tyrian and hold him up. The Faunus cries out from the pain.

"You bitch!" Tyrian shouts at Ruby, infuriated. Tyrian tried to get out of Y/N's grasp but failed to get out. "Tyrian, you're fatally wounded. We'll get nothing if we continue." Y/N reasoned with Tyrian. "She'll forgive you, I'll make sure of it." Y/N assured the Faunus.

He nods as Y/N looks up at Team RNJR and Qrow. "This won't be the last time we meet, silver-eyed warrior." Y/N promises. He looks behind him and teleports out of the abandoned village.
