Loving you

Harry had fallen asleep a couple hours ago and Lily and James were still out on the town. Remus and Sirius where sitting at the table drinking tea.
"So when you said you came to town looking for me you actually meant to look after me?"
'Well yes and no. When Gus told me he needed help back in his home town I jumped at the chance to finally meet you. He had told me all about his brave and reckless brother who used to bear the brunt of his parent's abuse and I fell in love with you through the stories.'
Sirius smiled, colour rising to his cheeks as he took Remus's hand across the table.

"We're home! Zips up and boots on!"
'So funny James. I'll never grow tired of your dry wit.'
James laughed as he walked up to hug Sirius.
Lily smiled at her husband's silly humour.
"Thank you for watching Harry, we hadn't seen the Longbottom's in so long without the boys around."
'It's our pleasure Lily. You know how we enjoy looking after Harry.'
"Maybe we could take him for a full weeks end some time?"
Sirius's face lit up as he looked between James and Lily.
James looked at Lily, eyebrows raised, and she nodded.

Sirius was leaning against the porch railing with his head tipped forward while Remus said goodnight to Lily. James leaned next to him, bumping their elbows and nodding his head at Remus.
"Got yourself a real special guy Black. I hope he makes you as happy as you make him."
Sirius looked at Remus, his face lit up animatedly as Lily listed Harry's routine for his future sleepover.
'I don't think I've ever been this happy before. Thanks for missing all my signals that there was a gun toting madman in my bar all those years ago.'

As they walked home, arm in arm, Sirius bumped Remus's shoulder to get his attention.
"Howdy."
Remus leaned in and kissed Sirius, slowly and full of love.
'Howdy yourself.'
