Elianna runs out, panic in her chest.
she pats her dress down, feeling the wind hit her face as she looks around. she sees neither of the boys close to her heart and it worries her more. the fear makes her throat feel tight as she looks around, wondering what they're doing outside and if she'd have to separate them again, on such a day.
she walks around, feeling comfortable in her trainers as her eyes look in every corner and alleyway. then she spots them. hugging.
Elianna freezes in her place, chest moving up and down as the anxiety leaves. she watches the scene before her, they haven't noticed her yet. she looks at how Jungkook's arm wraps around Yoongi's neck, bringing him closer as their laughter fills the air.
"oh thank fuck," Elianna can't help but interrupt the wholesome moment. one her and her friends have wished for. "i thought you were fighting."
the boys look at her in surprise but there's smiles all around. Elianna can't help but smile widely at the two, resisting the urge to squeeze them.
"no need to worry El," Jungkook replies. "you do that enough." the fact that he sees her for what she really does and her hard work and effort makes her smile even more.
"why can't you just chill for one day?" Yoongi pushes her shoulder as he nears her with a laugh.
"why can't i?" Elianna questions, raising her brows. "it's funny that you don't recall me having to separate you both from a fight."
"ah yes, that's all in the past now." Yoongi reassures her as well as himself. he looks at his younger brother fondly. "me and Kook talked things out." the two make soft eye contact. after so long, they can finally look at each other with different, changed hearts.
"seriously it's all okay." Jungkook adds to the reassurance, brown eyes meeting Elianna's under the grey clouds. it looks like it's about to rain any second. "we're good now."
"for real?" Elianna asks, still amazed by what she just witnessed and what she's hearing. "you're not playing with me?" Yoongi has pranked her several times in the past, she wouldn't be surprised if he got Jungkook's chaotic help to pull another on her.
"no love, now let's go back inside." silver haired Yoongi walks ahead of her after patting her back in a friendly and gentle way.
Jungkook joins Elianna's side as always.
the three of them walk back into the rowdy venue with changed hearts and a new take on the future. the trio laugh, suited Jungkook and Yoongi on either side of Elianna.
Elianna smiles wholeheartedly. she feels relieved.
it's hard to take off her face as they join the people filled venue. the first thing Elianna notices is Valentina snapping shots of guests, clicking her camera and being the photographer. Jin follows her with jokes as they chat among themselves with merriment.
Elianna exchanges a smile with Valentina.
then, a voice calls out to her.
"can i dance with you now?"
Elianna stops walking, the slow motion feeling drifting away as she turns to look at Jungkook by her side. his blazer is unbuttoned, collar open and eyes sparkling under the golden, artificial light. "now?" she asks, eyes flickering over his appearance.
"we're okay right?"
"yeah," Elianna's eyes stay on his. "come on then."
Elianna slips her hand into Jungkook's, moments from their dance practices coming back to remind them. but all is forgotten when the male's hand rests on her waist, clasping his other with Elianna's. their fingers interlock as they sway together.
Elianna can feel hers and Jungkook's hearts beating furiously, feeling as if their emotions are about to explode. they move together, swiftly but gentle and slow in manner. the music fits their dance, closer than ever together.
the two don't remember the last time they were this close. physically and emotionally, it seems that all has healed after years of torment. Jungkook's ringed hand in hers, parted ebony hair, glossy lips and the way he twirls her around. she's lost in his eyes and blinks way the tears.
"you know i never wanted to hurt you right?" he says, pressing their fronts together as her head lies on his chest. she hums, squeezing his hand.
"i'd do anything for you." he whispers.
"let me slap you then."
Jungkook pulls them apart, half laughing and half afraid, "seriously?" he gulps. "i-if you want to then... go for it."
Elianna playfully pats his cheek and smiles widely. Jungkook can't help but smile back at her, their smiles mirroring each other.
"i'll let you off."
Jungkook holds her close. "i truly do love you."
"i know you do." she wraps her arms around his back, slow music still playing as they move.
"do you love me back?"
"do i have a choice?"
