"Do you think she can do it, your grace?"

"Of course! She is my daughter. I trust  she can do this simple task I gave her."

I let out a heavy sigh after I heard my Mother's conversation with the Castles steward behind the doors. Why would she trust me with this task? She trusts me and she believes in me but I don't trust myself with this task and I don't even believe that I could survive the task that she gave me.

I let out a heavy sigh for the second time as I heard the two persons heavy steps walking away from the door until I no longer hear them.  I look down at the box I'm holding.

I stared at it for a minute and analyze its form.  The box was small and made out of solid wood, warm cherry is its color. Its shape is a rectangle, a bit big and heavy. The sides of the box were surrounded by lines that I couldn't describe what type of lines it is.

The box is heavy because inside of it is the royal family heirloom and it is said to be very powerful. I couldn't even forget how my mother warned me about this.

'In this box lies a wand that holds such great power. Open it and it might deceive you with its gentleness, you might lose control if you let yourself'

I took the box away from me after staring at it for too long. I put it on the table. I don't have any plans to leave this alone in this room since my only task is to guard this in one night and make sure that it is safe.

The whole room was supposed to be dark. But they left me with an open curtain that revealed the big windows welcoming the light of the moon. The moon serves as my light that's why the whole room isn't kinda dark. Although there are still parts of the room that is dark, the moon's light couldn't reach it anymore. Only those parts that it can be reached shall only be touched by its light.

The moon was big. From where I was standing I could see the flaws and scars of the moon. Even the beautiful bright moon has its flaws and scars. No wonder why my mother loves to stare at it.

Beautiful indeed mother.

My stares were afar but I was taken aback after hearing someone calling me from behind. I turned my gaze and saw nothing but the box.

"Harper..."

It called my name. I looked at my surroundings but I couldn't spot someone even a single shadow. But one thing I know is that the voice was coming from the box inside.

"Harper... oh what a beautiful name. Beautiful like the sound of a Harp"

It was a women's voice. Her voice was Gentle and fragile as glass but I could sense danger. It's like telling me to open the box.

"Open me, child. For I know deep down hides the curiosity, so do not be afraid and open me."

The voice continues to speak as I started to walk towards the box. The voice was like a song, like a lullaby. It was controlling my own body and my brain.

I slowly opened the box and there I saw the wand my mother tried to keep away from me. The wand was made out of ruby and gold. Its color is red like blood.

The moment I laid my hands in the wand. A beam of light started to come out from the ruby, revealing its own power. Its light was so bright that It could blind me easily.

"Harper? What's  going on?"

I heard my mother's voice from the other side. I could hear them knocking and banging the door but they couldn't open it even though it wasn't locked. I tried to find the door but the whole room was already surrounded by the light.

"HARPER OPEN THE DOOR!!" They started to shout my name. I heard familiar voices that were calling me, trying to reach me but I was nowhere out of reach.

I could feel pain in my palms, I felt so much heat. It's like burning me alive with my hands. I tried to release the wand with my bare hands but it was like glue in me. The second moment I realize, the room was already surrounded by the wand's light and exploded like a bomb. Not a single chair where left.

The light that blinded the whole area slowly vanish. But before it disappeared, the wand changes its appearance. Like a caterpillar that changes into a butterfly. The wand was no longer made out of ruby and gold.

Its ruby turned into a diamond. A diamond with the color of the crystal blue ocean. And slowly I saw how my name was engraved in the body of the wand.

Harper

Meaning that I'm now its new owner...
