Waking up on an unfamiliar place would make anyone panic, but not her.

The fear of being taken to some unknown place was covered with an unending glee of being alive. The girl was thankful that she was awake and breathing, even though her body was tired and aching. After a few grunts and wiggles, an alarm went off making her eyes wide. It only took a few seconds for the ringing to stop when someone went inside the room, running at her direction.

Thankful that the kid was now awake, the man called out others. Seeing a group of men wearing caps and white clothes, she realized that they were marines and she were at their base. The first navy who went inside the infirmary informed her on what had happened, telling how they saw her out and cold on the road, taking pity of her form they took her in.

After a few talks, they learnt that the girl had no family and her small house was destroyed by the storm, making it impossible for the marines to send her back out town. They were worried to leave a kid alone on the streets given that she was too young for that but she assured them that she was used to it and they didn't have to bother to think of ways to help her.

Two weeks after recovery, the girl was ready to leave when their captain came, checking up on his subordinates. When his eyes landed on her small form, his brows suddenly raised, mentally asking why a kid would be inside the navy's headquarters. The ones who have helped the silver head approached the man and explained the situation.

Having a heart of gold behind his gruffy expression, the captain gave the girl an option to stay and become their chore girl or leave a life on the streets. At first, she was hesitant thinking that she'll become a burden to them, another mouth to feed, but when the captain assured her that her chores are her payment for shelter and food, she gladly obliged.

It wasn't until a month later that the captain took notice on how passionate the girl was at checking plants and mixing them all together. Seeing her form of entertainment, often times after her chores are finished, he'll ask her if she was interested to go out for a walk on the woods which she always happily agreed to. The captain watch with amusement how careful the kid is picking up leaves and stems before placing them on her worn out basket.

At first, the captain thought that it was just a childish play of potion she was making and that she wasn't actually making cures, but using her imagination as a kid. The impression of the man completely turned a hundred and eighty degrees when one of his comrades turned ill from being poisoned by an arrow while under a mission.

The situation of the marine was fatal and even the doctors in the headquarters were finding it impossible to cure the poison. Everyone had accepted the fate of their comrade until the girl came inside the infirmary, holding a flask of purple colored liquid. At first, they scold her for being stubborn and not listening to their orders to keep out but when she shoved the liquid on the captain's arms and beg him to save the man who had helped her with her potion, they used it as their last resort. When he let the navy digest it, within seconds time, his pale face suddenly turned back to normal and his heart was starting to beat normally again. That was when he saw how great the girl was as a potion maker.

Seeing her potential, the captain offered her something she didn't expect. He asked if she was interested in joining the marines, telling her that if she followed their path, not only will she be physically strong but she will also have an opportunity to travel around places to gather herbs.
