Three years.

Three years had passed since her first mission and nothing after that was given to her. If Hex was going to be completely honest, she considered her infiltration a fail. Even with considering how young she was then, it was no excuse that she was too weak to fight back after being captured.

She wasn't sure what had happened but after giving the parchment Shanks gave her to Sengoku, she was immediately congratulated and was served a feast. In all honesty, Hex didn't knew what the pirate had wrote but based on her superior's actions, something good was written in it.

At first she wanted to tell them what happened and how she failed her mission, but seeing the satisfied and proud look Sengoku gave her everytime, her mouth just stops.

Thirteen and bored, Hex leaned by the rails of the marine ship she was on, eyes dull as only the blue sea covered her view. Chewing on her already sucked up bubble gum, the teen turned her head after hearing a loud crash.

Behind her was one of the marines under her wing, the man was face flat on the floor as he slowly raised his left hand that was holding a piece of parchment. Telling the man how the deck was just recently mopped and how running around wasn't advisable, Hex gave her thanks and opened the rolled paper.

Reading it four times in a row, Hex couldn't believe her eyes. After three years of nothing but patrols on the sea, Sengoku finally gave her second mission of infiltration. The plastered grin on her face soon fell as she slowly realized how tough the task was for her.

Flashes of the red hair pirates came running on her mind and how hopeless she was when she was kneeling on their deck, eyes heavy while a sword was up against her neck. It was indeed traumatizing but at the end, she survived the mission.

The thing she didn't have before was intelligence, how she mindlessly dug up information with no plan at all made her dig her own grave. Thankfully, the Captain of that crew has a twisted mind allowing her to flee.

Pushing all her thoughts aside, she read the last paragraph once more but rather than doom that she felt earlier, conviction was written across her face. Reading it aloud for her to hear her own voice, Hex trembled in excitement.

"After your request of three years of sea patrol as a marine after the successful infiltration you did on Red Haired Shanks' crew, I will now give your next operation.

Hex, I,  Fleet Admiral Sengoku, order you to infiltrate Big Mom's territory; the Whole Cake Island."

Flare made her way out her bedroom as the storm had finally stopped.

Taking the calm wind as an opportunity to harvest vegetables for dinner, the silver head made her way towards the kitchen as she pulled the empty baskets that were under the sink. Having her dagger and potion bag, Flare was now confident that if ever the same situation happens to her again, she was prepared.

Walking out the leaving room, there she saw the still sleeping beauty. Taking a look at Ace, something different caught her eyes making her chuckle. The man was smiling like an idiot in his sleep, making Flare think that he was enjoying some type of dream.

Leisurely looking around the forest, the silver head gathered up a few carrots and cabbage growing by itself,  a few mushrooms and other vegetables that were on her mental list. After gathering all the things she needed, she was good to go to find the last and her main ingredient; meat.
