I hate to say this, but this chapter isn't edited. Please bear with the mistakes.

Securing a place at the corner of the hall, I look around. Now that the fundraising event is over, the party is on the full swing, people here are less careful of what the media is going to say tomorrow. The main reason behind it is, most of them are very much drunk.

Chuckling to myself, I spy on Shravan. He seems to be much soberer than the others yet I have never seen him without a drink in his hand. He is socialising with other businessmen with a smile plastered on his face. Randomly his eyes scurry back at me every now and then, as though he is trying to make sure I didn't run away after his confession.

I won't lie, that I am not scared but I still want him in my life. In this one and a half months, I was sure doing all the chores of my life, but there was a nagging feeling inside me that something is not right; and now standing in front of him, I can tell, it was him. I missed him.

I have never been a fan of alpha male or female characters. But standing afar, looking at him, I can tell, he is indeed one. Be it his towering and intimidating built or his interesting mannerism, the way he is standing casually yet stylishly with one hand shoved into his pants' pocket and another one holding the glass. He looks sinisterly handsome. I study the faces of the people he is interacting with, they look as smitten as I am with him as if they are ready to fall on his feet if he wants them to.

I sigh, being with him is something I want, though I can't ignore the fact that someone is keeping a tab on me. First the security breach, then the accident and now these messages he is getting as if everything is related to me. The moment I entered his life, his life became a mess . . . I gasp out loud upon this thought. Everything is related to me. Every incident that had happened or happening only when I was or am present with him.

First, that security breach, I was with him at his house, then the accident, he is getting all these messages threatening to harm me. How did I not notice it before? Very confidently I blamed him about everything that's happening yet I never gave it a thought maybe I am the reason because of whom he is so much into trouble.

"Staring is bad." I smile, listening to Akshay's voice. With this attitude, I still wonder how he manages his company.

I turn to look at him, his green eyes twinkle, "I still don't know how you and Shravan are friends. You two are poles apart."

Humouring me, he carries the banter forward, "Well, as they say, opposites attract." He looks around and then concentrates on me, "You were thinking . . ." His question lingers in the air. I look at him and then at Shravan who looks relieved that Akshay is standing next to me. His rigid stance subsides at once.

"Why do I feel it's all related to me?" I try to be nonchalant, "But again, that doesn't make any sense. Why me, I am a nobody in front of him."

Akshay smiles, "You are not a nobody, you can't be, apparently the man you are in love with is somebody." He looks at me intently, "Whoever is behind all these, definitely they don't like Shravan. And being the love of his life makes you the perfect target."

"And his full concentration is on my well being," I mumble. My mind is taking me to a dangerous place where I don't want to go. "that means,"

"That means nothing, Suman." Akshay speaks in a stern voice, "You are the only sliver of light in all these. If he is not giving up, it's just because of you; because he wants you in his life. Don't you dare to pull some stunt that will damage him more than you want to imagine."

"Even when that can push him into more troubles?" I snap at Akshay.

"I know him, Suman. He fell in love with you the moment he saw you, yet he didn't understand it then. Why do you think he remembered every single date when he saw you? We only remember incidents that are close to our heart. Can't you see, how much he loves you? And knowing him, I can vouch if you are thinking what I am thinking you are thinking," a soft chuckle slips through my lips, but he continues, "all hell will break loose, and he will not think twice to burn down the world if he has to."
