I will sing across the moon - a song to ward off evil spirits.
I will sing across the stars - a prayer curing all your woes and ills.
I will sing across the universe - a ballad to find your happiness.
Why not across the Earth?
Why not across the lakes and rivers that surround you?
Why not across the mountains keeping watch?
Not over the hills, along the oceans, through forests and old caves?
And through dreadful bypasses and crossroads. Why not?
For you, I would walk through the rain forest and stare into the River Queen's eyes.
For you I would walk through the desert and die in Fata Morgana's arms.
But these boasts are meaningless, aren't they?
How about I live for you? Smile and cry and laugh and die - all peacefully, when I am old and grey.
How about I live happily? Build a house, plant trees and whatever else happy people do.
How about I make myself wake up and - carpe diem!
How about I go to sleep, looking forward to a new day?
It's strange and silly, how difficult such promises are to fulfil. I would rescue you any day, truly. But myself? Even if this is your one and only wish... I am unworthy of such love.
Yet, your dream is mine. Your happiness - a gift.
So I will sing from this part of the world, and hope the moon will turn towards you, so you can hear this melody and smile.
