I wait outside the abandoned warehouse, Libby looking anxious by my side. "Who are we meeting? Riley?" She asks.

I hold back my sigh of annoyance at the girl. "No. If Riley ever broke the law, his father would be on him like a falcon," I smile. She doesn't get the joke but she doesn't know his father. That was a good joke as well.

"Who are we meeting?" She repeats.

"She's the daughter of Tony Stark's old assistant. Pepper Potts worked for Tony and even dated him for a while before she broke up with him after she made him realise that he had feelings for Bruce Banner," I say.

A motorbike pulls up and Violet Rhodes gets off, unclipping her helmet. She walks over, shaking out her strawberry blonde curls. I cast a critical eye over her shirt and suit jacket over tight jeans. Not exactly a breaking and entering outfit.

"Hey, Ally," she says brightly. Then looks at Libby. "Ally, aren't you going to introduce me?"

"This is Libby Barnes-Rogers," I say. "Have you got the guns?"

Violet grins playfully and from her messenger bag, produces two huge guns, full of gadgets and lots of bullets. Even my eyes widen at them. Latest Stark prototypes. Last year, my mother and father told me that there was a war coming up. Against something big and they needed to be as well prepared as possible. They said it would be a few years until the threat surfaced but Tony had started making weapons again.

They didn't tell me the last bit. I figured it out.
Grenades and guns and archery equipment and Advanced Widow Bites appeared in the weaponry room below the house. It didn't take a genius to examine them and figure out that they weren't weapons you could get anywhere. Speciality weapons for the Avengers, made by their very own genius.

"How did you get them?" Libby asks. "These are Stark weapons. Only the Avengers are allowed them."

"You know about these?" I say incredulously. "Your parents told you?"

"I figured it out," she says defensively. "It doesn't take some super-smart person like Ruby or her dads to figure out what they are. Steve and Bucky hid them in the weapons room they think I don't know about behind a wall in Steve's art room."

"Didn't think you were the type to sneak around."

"You sound proud."

"I am."

Libby laughs and she takes a gun off Violet. I take the other, weighing it. Not too heavy for all the metal. Wonder how he made it.

"I'd better get home," Violet says. "Mom said be home by five."

"How did you get them?" I ask as she puts her helmet back on and starts up her bike. Normally I don't care but Libby's question has sparked my curiosity.

"My dad had a load of weapons in his military room in the mansion," she says. "Guessed he wouldn't miss two. Anyway, you need them a hell of a lot more than he does at the moment."

"At the moment?" I raise an eyebrow.

A small smile flickers across Violet's face and she revs up the engine. "I'm not stupid, Ally. You and your little friends are preparing for battle. It's probably for something world-changing. So make sure you bloody win."

And with that, she left.

Hey! Can anyone guess who Violet's dad is? And Riley's dad?
