Chapter IV - Unwanted Presence
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Alone, there I was; in the partly-dark forest. I gathered a few resources to last me the night, since I accidentally fell out of the helicopter. However, there was one thing I forgot to grab; water. Unfortunately, I was also very thirsty at that point, and I had no canteen on me. Survival was about to take a step up. I knew I had to find water somewhere - but this partly-dense forest doesn't show me a single path to a place where I could get some. The nightly shadows weren't helping at all. It wasn't uncommon that I was silently frightened by silence and myself being alone. I'm so scared of being alone, that I can't even step outside my bedroom at night to grab my pajamas. Well, this was a whole different scenario, and I knew I had to do it. I removed one of the Beamer Lights and strapped it onto the left side of my belt. I took my Katana and sheathed it in its case on my back. I took my Bow and strapped it onto my back, and my Arrows; I placed in the right area of my belt. I also took a long stick and skewered it into a big chunk of meat. I tied one end of a vine to the right side of my belt, and the other, on the end of the stick. Then, I grabbed a thick branch, cut some pig fat, and skewered it onto the tip. I lit the pig fat on fire to make a torch. Finally, I set out to find a source of water.

A few dozen steps into the forest, and my walkie-talkie rings;
"Hello? Craze, can you hear me?", a voice called.
"Loud and clear. Who's this?", I asked.
"It's me, Jaydee."
"Oh, hey man. How's it going over there?", I asked.
"It's going pretty good. Russ sent General Fiona to the infirmary, and he says he'll stay there until she gets better. General Mitchel's asleep in his quarters.", Jaydee replied. "What about you? Hope you're in good condition over there.", he added.
"Thanks man. Uhm, nope... I've already built a shelter, made a fire, found some food, and collected a few resources. Although, I forgot to grab water somewhere. I'm venturing out to find some now.", I told Jaydee, as I continued walking through the forest.
I approached an opening through the trees. Upon stepping through, I noticed a wide, circular space. There were no trees growing there, but there were a lot of plants. I put forth my torch to light the area, so I could see. Suddenly, I see a silhouette of a well in the middle of the space.
"Craze, are you still there? I gotta tell you something.", said Jaydee, sounding kind of worried.
"Yeah? What is it man?", I replied.
"I secretly implanted a tracking chip on your walkie-talkie, that enables me to locate where you are, and simulate your surroundings. Something's not right about where you are...", he mentioned.
"What do you mean something's not right with my surroundings? Everything's fine here.", I replied, as I cautiously made my way to the well.
"No man, my chip simulator says that there's a few threats in your area, and it doesn't look safe there. Whatever you're doing, get out of there!", said Jaydee.
"But I gotta grab water! I might choke or get dehydrated man! I need it!", I said, as I slowly made my way to the well.
"Seriously Craze don't do *hiss* man! *screech* gonna *static noise* in there!", he said.
