(My first real update since being back! I hope you all enjoy! <3)
The water tinted red as small hands worked furiously to wash away as much dried blood as possible from her coated arms.
Sasuke had brought the dark haired girl to the stream Naruto and he had fished at no too long ago. Allowing her to clean up a bit as he collected water while the other half of the team waited at the small camp they had set up.
Red eyes stared at their own reflection within the crystal water for a moment. Almost half of her face held a dark red coating, some patches so dark it almost seemed black. The aftermath of laying dead in a pool of her own blood just a few hours ago. Her dark locks laid messy, which also seemed to fall victim to the now dry liquid as chunks sat clumped together.
Nanno couldn't help but to let out a small sigh at the sight. Realizing all the furious scrubbing was pretty much useless. Just water wouldn't be enough at this point. Patches of her skin she had cleaned already had a light pink tint to it where the red liquid had staind slightly.
The girl cupped her hands, bringing cool water to her face. Attempting to clean up her face a little at least before deciding to just stop there for the day. Her clothing was already a lost cause to begin with. No way she could get all the blood out. No point in attempting to really wash it now and have to travel the rest of the way with soggy clothing. Plus taking up even more of the limited time they had to get rid of a stain. To be honest the dress was pretty much just one big stain that would need to be thrown away once she got back to Kakashi's anyway.
Then the thought suddenly hit her, sending a chill down the girl's spine
'Kakashi... after this is over... i'll probably have to go back to his place with him...'
Now that she thought about it, maybe she could handle staying in the death forest for a little longer after all.
"You about ready?" her dark haired teammate questioned, closing the now filled water canister and shaking the red eyed girl from her daze.
Letting a small hum and a nod, Nanno stood up from her crouched position near the edge of the stream. Spinning around and flashing her dark haired companion a small grin before walking back in the direction of their team. Trying her best to empty her head from the sudden thought of the silver haired demon that was most likely waiting for her. No use worrying herself over it right now, she would just have to cross that bridge when it presented itself.
"Nanno." the Uchiha called out softly, sounding to be only about a foot behind the girl. Realizing how close the male was trailing behind her put the girl slightly on edge, though she didn't say anything. Only letting out a low hum indicating she was listening.
It was silent for a moment, as if the dark haired boy was trying to piece together exactly what he wanted to say. "Can... Can I ask you something?"
Shit. He sounded so serious... well slightly more serious than usual. Which was still a little strange!
Discomfort washed over the girl. Questions, they made her uncomfortable. Especially if it was to pry more into her past... she shared pretty much all she was comfortable with at this point. Honestly, as much as the girl wanted to believe she was in a stable place and had moved past most of the tragedy that seemed to plague her existence. It was a big fat lie.
A forced laugh left the girl "W-Well, technically you already did." the girl joked slightly.
The girl could practically hear the boy's eyes roll at the response, a small 'tch' of annoyance passing his lips. Nanno couldn't hold back the small smile at the sound, feeling that she was able to lighten up the mood slightly.
