Chapter 4

AERIN’S POV: I finish washing up the beer kegs and dinner plates as the others are still dancing drunkenly outside. I hear the door open and close. I turn around to see king-he was surprisingly without Chastifol!       “Oh hey King, what’s up?”    
“Oh yea, erm Aerin? Can I ask you something?”   I nod and smile at him, King is such a sweet friend. I can tell he is a bit embarrassed but he asks me “ So. UM... you wanna come dance with me?” I feel a dagger of guilt pierce through me as I say “ oh! Well I was just gonna head up to bed... I’m gonna have to turn down your offer for now but definitely another day for sure!”  I can tell that kinda upset him and I give him an: I’m sorry, look and he trudges  out. I go to the bathroom and run the water for my bath.           

HIKARI’S POV:                     
We all chugged down another pint of booze and I notice that Ban is out on the floor. How long has he been like that, an hour? Two? Anyway, we all dance around like lunatics and King walks back out. Elaine asks “ Harlequinn did you ask her?” He looks defeated and replies with a sad “Yes..” and before Elaine could reply he adds. “ She’s too tired and said she would take me up on my offer another day.”  Looking away from them, Merlin and Gowther are chatting away in the corner, steering clear of all alcohol. Just then, an extremely drunk Meliodas starts ‘hugging’ Elizabeth. “ SIR MELIODAS! I thought we talked about this! These are your old habits and I will NOT let you go back toThem!” She pushes him off her and crosses her arms. Jeez, I’ve never seen Elizabeth so assertive before, especially towards Meliodas! For some reason I feel happy that she got angry at him... but why?.. He drunkenly waves a hand towards her “ pfft wHaTevEr” I can see now that Ban has woken up and apparently slept off the drunk state he was in. He and king were bickering about something and I heard him say. “ You took it Ban! I know you did!”    
“No I didn’t-“.      
“You lying bastard!”      
“JEEZ! King chill out! I don’t have your trinke- oh wait. I may have left it in the bathroom..” he awkwardly rubs the back of his neck and the too race each other inside to get it.                                

AERINS POV:                       
I finish my bath and wrap a towel around me. It didn’t fit completely but it worked nevertheless. And besides, who will see me? Everyone is outside. Suddenly, Ban and Ki nu burst in and snatched something from the counter. They hadn’t seen me-thank the goddesses- but I screamed “ GET THE HELL OUT!”  they both turned, startled by my but then covered their eyes and ran out shouting “ Sorry!” Or “ sorry Aerin!” And I even heard Ban say “ well you should’ve locked the door” under his breath. I shouted back. “ WELL I DIDNT KNOW THAT YOU TWO WOULD COME RUNNING IN! KNOCK BEFORE YOU ENTER A ROOM!”  There was silence after that and I changed. I opened the bathroom door only to see them both, leaning against the wall, still completely startled by meScreaming. I start walking to my room and hear Ban whisper to King “ that is one scary girl..” I shot him a death stare and stomp  the rest of the way to my bedroom.               

HIKARI’S POV:                      
Once everyone had gone to sleep, it was just me and Meliodas. He looks at me and I look back. I tilt my head to the side and show him a puzzled expression. Why was he staring at me?                    
“ you have such pretty amber eyes” I blush and say 
“ you don’t know what you’re talking about, you’re drunk”. He replies with “ maybe I am, maybe I’m not?”   I stare at him, confused for a second and then realise that he is in fact drunk and Im not  having any of his  bull sh** . “ yes you are drunk. Now stop. Elizabeth has the pretty eyes, not me ok?”   He edges a little closer to me and I edge further away. I am not going to indulge in these made up emotions in my head but I still can’t get out of my head that I was happy when he and Elizabeth weren’t as close as before. I turn to him and think, maybe he doesn’t love her? I can play with these ‘made up’ emotions for once can’t I? I put my hand to his face and as he leans to me Elizabeth walked out. I know exactly what to do. “Wait Meliodas, hold still. This thing won’t come out of your eye if you don’t stop squirming” I say, examining his eye. “Elizabeth, come take a looK, he said he had something in his eye but I don’t see it.” She comes over and I leave them be. How could I be so reckless? Destroying aRelationship just because of feelings I may or may not have? I clear my head and go to bed, trying not to think about it.
