Chapter 10 Part 1

MELIODAS' POV

The day drags and I dont get to talk to Hiraki. She looks away or leaves the room when I walk in. I know she'd never but it seems like she hates me. Ugh... I messed up. Right before her birthday too! Oh gee... We have a ball to throw too. Right! Then I should make sure everyone has the stuff and make sure Hiraki's new dress is ready!

I run down the stairs and stop at the table Kings at "Is the thing done?" I whisper he nods with his thumbs up. "I made sure, she doesn't know a thing about it!" Aerin comes up to us and whispers. Ban walks to Aerins side and the three have a rising tension. I back off and run upstairs to find my clothes for tomorrow.

HIKARI'S POV (The next day, in the morning)

I wake up with a stretch and a yawn. I hear a knock at my door and pull my cover up to my kneck "Come in!" I yell and groan tiredly.
"Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Hikari - - - -" Aerin sings walking in but gets cut off "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!" many voices shout coming through the door. I sit up quickly. I didnt realise they even knew my birthday! "Wow guys! Mornin to begin with! Yall remembered! Woah!" I say happily everyone places a small box but meliodas isn't in the room. I feel my heart kind of.... Sink... Why?... Im not sure but my face falls.. "Well go on!" I hear Diane say
"Yea! Open them!" Elaine adds. I smile again and pick up a blue box from Elizabeth. I open it and smile brightly. It's a silver necklace with an emerald green gem in it.. Its like.. His.. Eyes... WHAT?! ok ok calm down Hikari... I reach up and hug her. We go through all of the presents from everyone else, just leaving Aerin's now. I guess nothing from meliodas, which I don't mind but.... Oh well. Aerin takes a  box with a red ribbon tied neatly, holding the lid closed and a card on top. I take the card and open it "To Hikari-" I read aloud, "Finally 18! You've become so mature and strong it makes me happy! Thr first time we met we were broken and hurt  but now everything is coming together! I knew you were my best friend when I heard you waltz up to that market stall with that sassy Missori twang. I watched you go through family issues, heartbreaks and happy times too! But everything I've been through, you were there too! I just wanted to let you know how special you are to me and I wish you a very happy birthday!

PS: Just so you know, Meliodas is downstairs when we're done with this!!!" I finish. I feel tears in my eyes but before I can let them out, I feel Aerin's arms around me. I hug her back.

Aerin pulls away and I turn my attention back to the box. I pull the red ribbon lightly, letting the ribbon fall off gracefully. I lift the lid and squeal at the contents. It's a new whip belt! To make sure it fits I wrap the belt around me and tighten it to how I'd usually have it. It feels comfy and it fits! I clip my whip on and the handle fits in properly too! "Thank you so much! This is perfect!!" I say reaching up and hugging her tight. "That's not all. Take it off and look at it!" Aerin says. I tilt my head in confusion but I take it off and look at it. Engraved next to the whip is the name:
Hikari Enoka

I run my hand over the name. Its carved amazingly. "Wow that's.... Ya really did this for me.... This is crazy" I mumble. Aerin nods happily and eagerly. "Oh! Also this is the first part of meliodas' gift to you!" Merlin says passing me a white box with a black ribbon. I take it and feel.. Happier! I pull the ribbon and it falls right off. I lift the lid and my jaw drops. It's a beautiful green and blue dress!!!
"Oh my god!" I gasp
"Well! Get it on! We'll get our fancy outfits and meet us downstairs!" Diane says happily
"Are we going down to wet our whistle at the saloon tonight?" I ask "I'm sorry? What?" Erik asks confused "It means, are we going to have a drink down at the bar tonight! I forgot you arent used to her wordings" Aerin sayS, "Anyway yea cya down there Mikari!" she finishes. They all walk out and I spring out of bed. This is exciting! I have a quick shower and then slip into my dress. It fits my figure perfectly.. I brush and style my hair with a flowercrown. I slip a pair of grey heels on.
