AN- I am so sorry for the delay on this chapter. I had gotten some sad news a few days ago and writing this chapter has been a nice distraction.
It is a long chapter so I hope you like it!
-Ellie xx"You fight people for money?" I blanched, my eyes lingering on his injuries as I tried to comprehend what he was saying. Luckily he didn't look too bad, but I did wonder how the other guy had faired. "That's where you were tonight?"
"Yes." He nodded. "I'll answer all your questions, but we should probably get some sleep first." He went to take my hands but I snatched them back and curled into myself, my hurt overpowering any other emotions.
"Don't you have other girls waiting for you." I spat, my eyes stinging with fresh tears as I remembered the phone conversation he had with the man before he left. "Or have you already used and chucked them." I refused to meet his dark eyes, how could he do this to me after we kissed.
"Lily, what are you talking about?" His hand came up towards my face but I caught it, bringing it down to my lap and softly brushed my thumb over his bruised knuckles as I finally met his eyes with my own bloodshot ones.
"No Aiden, you know what. I heard you on the phone before you left. That you had girls waiting for you there." I couldn't hold back my tears as I finally let my emotions take over from his lies and my nightmare. "Whilst I was in your bed!" I hiccuped, wiping under my eyes as my heart slowly broke.
"Lily, that's not-" I cut him off with a watery glare, to which he sighed as he frustratedly ran a hand through his hair before taking my hands in both of his. " I admit, I used to be like that. Those girls were at the fights and I could take my pick and discard them afterwards because they meant nothing to me." I flinched, wanting to pull my hands away but he stopped me with a stern look.
"But I don't do that anymore, not since I met you. When I got there, the fight took place, I won and afterwards they approached me, but I didn't take any of them because I don't care about them, I don't want them. The only girl I care about is you. I would never hurt you Lily." My crying had reduced to quiet sniffles as I hung onto his every word, the hurt in my heart diminishing somewhat as I looked into his eyes for any signs that he wasn't telling the truth. I sighed in relief when I found none.
"Promise?" I mumbled, holding out my pinky just like the day in the cafeteria when Aiden promised he would help me with my math work. Although, that seemed to be the least of our problems at this moment.
"I promise angel." He smiled, linking his much larger pinky with my own. It was scary how attached I had gotten to Aiden, but he had done so much for me that it was impossible for me not to fall for him. "Now how about you get your cute little ass up those stairs because I'm shattered." He groaned, standing up and stretching his arms above his head which made his shirt raise a little, exposing a sliver of his tan, defined stomach.
"Aiden!" I scolded, blushing from both his comment and not being able to tear my eyes from his sculptured physique. My smile came easy, happy that the tension between us had dissipated. I knew he had a past with girls but I wouldn't hold that against him as long as it stayed in the past.
"Or I could just carry you." He wiggled his eyebrows with a smirk, to which I rolled my eyes, my blush not fading anytime soon.
"No thank you, I can walk." I stood from the couch, sending him a playful scowl before folding the blanket back up and headed upstairs with Aiden in tow. "Are you looking at my ass?" I looked over my shoulder at him when I could feels his eyes wandering, to see his smirk grow wider.
