I make my way down the long hallway towards the even longer flight of stairs. Of course Germany's room has to be a billion miles away from the entrance, I think to myself. After what seems like hours, I finally make it to the bottom of the staircase. I see UN in the distance making preparations for tomorrow's meeting. He sees me and smiles brightly. I swiftly make my way towards him.

"UN! Do you have a moment? I have a question," I say. He looks down at me a and gently nods.

"Of course, United States. I always have time to answer questions," he says. I smile.

"I was just wondering if Germany could come to the meeting tomorrow. I'll keep a close eye on him, and he doesn't have to join in on the discussion. It would be a good first step to releasing him," I say as sweetly as I could, "After all, you are eventually going to release him. Right?". UN looks up in thought.

"Oh, I don't know about that. There will be a lot of people at this meeting... it might not be safe for him. Especially since a lot of them are scared of him," UN says.

"Italy, Japan, Russia and I will all keep an eye on him. I promise we won't let anything bad happen. Besides, people are gonna have to get used to him if we want him to start going out in public," I say. UN looks troubled.

"I will think about it, and I will let you know tomorrow before the meeting. You should hurry home now, before it gets dark." UN says. I nod.

"Thank you UN. I'll see you tomorrow," I say. And with that I make my way home.

As I walked out the palace, I noticed an elegant looking eagle with its right wing trapped under a fallen branch. It is desperately trying to pull its wing out from beneath the branch, but it's struggles are in vain.

I carefully approach the poor creature. "Hey, calm down. It'll be ok," I say as gently as possible. The bird was flapping its free wing wildly, but slowly started to calm down as I got closer. I gently freed the animal.

Before I could even react, the bird slashed my face with its talons and immediately started to fly away. It's injured wing made its flight a lot more clumsy than you would expect from such an elegant creature, but I was more focused on the blood pouring out of my cheek. "Ungrateful little bird," I mutter, as I slowly made my way home.

Surprisingly, I was able to make it back home before sunset.

"Woah, what's up with your face?" Australia asks as I walk through the front door. New Zealand smacks his younger twin on the back of the head. Canada rushes up to me.

"Are you ok? What happened? Who did this to you? Where are they?" Canada asks all in one breath. I laugh.

"Oh, I was just attacked by a bald eagle, I'll be fine," I say. Australia looked up at me confused.

"A bald eagle? Are you sure? Those are very rare," Australia says. I shrug.

"I don't know. Unfortunately, they don't seem to like me to much," I say. Australia smiles.

"Well tell me next time you see one! Id love to have a Bald Eagle as a friend," Australia exclaims. New Zealand frowns.

"Another friend? Aren't the snakes, gators and spiders enough?" New Zealand asks. Australia smiles mischievously.

"You're right, how about I invite them over and you can ask them yourself," Australia says, his eyes glowing blue. All of the sudden, an army of snakes and spiders crawled through the door, followed by two large alligators. Australia bends down and picks up his favorite snake, Jack. Jack was the first animal Australia was able to tame when he had first gained his power.

New Zealand, Canada and I all scream and scramble to get away from the animals. Australia laughs.

"I can call in some more!" Australia exclaims.

Their was a sudden crash of thunder and we all froze. My father walks in the room, his eyes glowing bright yellow as he glares down at Australia.

"Australia, what have I told you about bringing Animals into the house," My fathers voice echoed throughout the mansion. When my father uses his power, his voice becomes almost as loud as the thunderstorms he creates. Australia looked down in shame.

"I'm sorry father," Australia says, waving his hand to signal to the animals to go home. My fathers expression calmed for a second, until he looked at my face.

"America! What happened to you?" He exclaims, rushing over to me. I almost forgot about the wound on my face.

"It's really nothing. Just a little scratch. I'll be fine," I say, "I was attacked by an eagle,". My father sighed.

"Are you sure you're alright?" He asks. I roll my eyes.

"I already said I'm fine! Do you want me to say I'm not fine?" I say angrily. To my surprise, my father doesn't look mad at my disrespectful tone. He instead looks worried.

"America, please," he says, putting his hands on my shoulders. I push his hands away.

"I'm fine, okay? I'll go clean out the wound," I say while walking away. On the way to my room I grab a wet washcloth and press it against my cheek. I lay down in my bed and wonder how the eagle got trapped. I sighed. Why did the eagle hurt me? I only tried to help it.

I think back Canada, and how he looked so worried about me that night. But I yelled at him anyway. And my father, and how he always tries his best to keep me safe. But I ignore him anyway. I guess the eagle hurt me for the same reason I hurt my family. Because we want to be strong. We want to be able to keep ourselves alive without the constant help of others. The eagle could have been trapped all night if I hadn't saved it, yet it will not be grateful because in its mind he didn't need the help. He just doesn't know because he had only ever been helped.

Maybe I should go apologize to my family, but I am far to comfortable lying on my bed. I'll thank them all tomorrow morning then.

And with that, I drifted of to sleep.

"It's not my fault the branch snapped! And how was I supposed to know he was going to try and save me?"

"Whatever, at least you weren't found out,"

"So, what did you find?"

"There will be a meeting tomorrow, and Germany will possibly be attending,"

"Perfect. He is just what we need to gain more control,"

"How do you plan to use him?"

"Here is my proposal-,"

"Ahem, you do remember I am the one in charge here,"

"Yes, yes, whatever. Could you let me finish?"

"Hmph,"

"Anyway, if something were to happen to that powerless freak, it would give many people mixed emotions. Britain would be greatly affected by the loss of his son, and we can use that weakness to our advantage,"

"But what does that have to do with Germany?"

"Well, people would need someone to blame for the incident. Someone they don't trust. Someone who happens to spend a lot of time with the freak,"

"I see where your going with this and I'm loving it. One problem though,"

"Which is?"

"What are we going to do about him?"

"All in good time, my friend,"

"All in good time,"
