I walked out of my room to see my brothers playing with Nekomi in the hallway. Australia picked her up and she crawled onto his shoulder.
"Are you all ready to go?" I ask. They all smile and nod. We make our way down the hallway talking and laughing. Nekomi purrs loudly and Australia frowns.
"What's wrong?" Canada asks.
"Nekomi is hungry, we should get her something to eat," Australia says. We make our way to the kitchen. Australia sits on the kitchen counter and gives Nekomi small bits of meat while I grab an apple from our fruit bowl.
"Being a spirit creature must be hard work," I comment as Nekomi finishes the meat and curls up against Australia's leg. New Zealand smiles.
"It must be cool to have a spirit creature though. Aussie, imagine if you were a spirit creature," New Zealand says. Australia laughs.
"Why would I be the spirit creature and not you?" Australia exclaims.
"Because I'm careful. Remember when you jumped of a balcony just because you thought it would be fun?" New Zealand says.
"What? It was right over a lake! Ame was the one who told me to!" Australia exclaims. I laugh.
"I just told you to do it because I know I couldn't. Canada would loose his mind if he saw me even go close to the balcony," I say. Australia laughs.
"Wow, aren't you a great brother?" He jokes.
"Mr. America, may we speak to you for a moment?". Me and my brothers look towards the door to see Democrat and Republican.
"Oh, um, sure," I say. "you guys can start heading out, I'll catch up," I tell my brothers as Democrat and Republican lead me to the study room. Republican closes the door behind us as Democrat sits down on one of the desk chairs. They are both wearing a matching worried expression.
"Now sir, you know that we are only here to make sure you are always the best you can be," Democrat starts, while shifting his gaze towards Republican.
"And we just want to protect you," Republican adds, taking a seat across from Democrat.
"So we were both thinking that it is probably best for you to not attend today's meeting," Democrat finishes.
"What?," I exclaim. Not only was I curious as to why I shouldn't, it was rare to see them agree on something. "Why?" I ask. They both shift uncomfortably. Are they trying to hide something?
"Well, you never seem to enjoy any of the meetings," Democrat says. Republican nods.
"And lets be honest, you never get to do much anyways," Republican adds. I sigh.
"Well, that's fine. It's still important for me to be there. Almost everyone goes to the meetings," I say. Democrat and Republican exchange glances, as if they are not sure how to say what they want to say.
"We just think it might not be safe, considering who's attending," Democrat says. I immediately understood.
"Oh, come on. I'll be fine! Germany would never hurt me! He is my friend," I exclaim, "I appreciate the concern, but I'm sure everything will be fine,". I start to walk towards the door.
"Alright sir, we trust your judgment. Just please be careful. We don't want anything bad to happen to you," Democrat says. I smile.
"Don't worry, I will. And it's just a small meeting, what could go wrong?"
