"New Zealand?" I say, frozen in shock and disbelief.

"America...," New Zealand said, a relieved look on his face. I run up to him, fall to my knees and pull him into a tight hug.

"I-I... I thought.... I- I thought I l-lost you...," I say shakily. Tears of relief stream down my face. New Zealand hugged me back.

"I'm fine! I'm ok! Don't cry, I'm fine! You're squeezing the air out of me...," New Zealand said. I gently let go of him and look him in the eyes.

"What did those bastards do to you?" I say.

"I'm fine! Don't worry! They... they just took my power... I'm ok," New Zealand said. I sighed. I see Poland rush to Kazakhstan's side.

"Kaz, your wings! What happened?" Poland exclaimed. Germany stood awkwardly to the side.

"They took all of our guardians using those scepter things. That traitor. I never should have trusted him," China said.

"Wait, so you willfully helped Reich?!" Poland exclaimed.

"What? No! I trusted that other guy... confederate was it? I didn't know he was working with the damn Nazi!" China exclaimed.

"None of us knew...," New Zealand said sadly. I sigh.

"I should have warned you guys about him... I just never thought he would come back... how did he even come back...," I say. We all remain silent.

"Erm... do you guys want me to melt the chains?" Germany asked, breaking the silence. I look at the four countries chained together.

"Oh yeah... that would probably help," I say. Germany walked over to them, and focused his magic on the chains in between them, keeping them together. A small fire lit in Germany's hand as he wrapped it around the chain between New Zealand and Kazakhstan. Once he melted it apart he moved on to the next one between Kazakhstan and China.

"So... five of us are powerless and one of us is too injured to use his power. That just leaves Germany," I say. Germany sighs as he finished melting the last bit of chains apart.

"Well... it's been awhile since I've used my power. And I never really got trained on how to use it properly," Germany says. Poland sighs.

"Well, something is better than nothing I guess." Poland turned to the other four. "How did you guys escape? That was a pretty high fall. It seems unlikely you would just walk away with only one broken leg,".

"Yeah, luckily Mexico caught us. She couldn't really support all of our weight, but she slowed the fall," Indonesia said.

"Really? Where is she?" I exclaim. Indonesia sighed.

"We don't really know. By the time we collected ourselves she was already gone," Indonesia said.

"Oh...," I say sadly. It's been a long time since I've talked to Mexico. Every time we're in the same room I always avoid her. It's not that I don't like her or don't want to be friends with her, it's just that I can't bear to be around her after all the crap I put her through. I just don't want to make my guilt her problem I guess.

"Anyway, we should probably head back to the palace," Germany said.

"And then?" China asked.

"Um... I don't know...," Germany said.

"Yeah... do we actually have any sort of plan?" Poland asked. I sigh.

"I was thinking going back and finding others who escaped. Like, adults and stuff," I say. New Zealand rolls his eyes.
