Your pov
You had been excited the entire week leading up to prom knowing that you would have a date. You were currently in your room putting on your dress. It was a white colored empire one shoulder dress. You and your date had agreed to just meet there so Austin was on his way to pick you up. You quickly touched up your make up and headed downstairs.
" You look great" your mom said as you stepped down the stairs. A smile appeared on your face at her compliment. You were about to respond when you heard a light knock on your front door before Austin popped in.
" Wow" he sighed out as he took a glance at you. You smiled lightly at him while you looked over the boy infront of you. His hair was styled in a nice quiff and he was dressed in an all black tux with a white tie.
" You two are matching" your mom said as she looked between you with a smile. You both looked at each other and smiled before bursting out into a fit of laughter.
" That's great" he said in between laughs and you just nodded along.
" Ok can I get a few pictures of you guys before you leave" your mom asked when you two had finished. To and Austin both nodded before you walked over to him for pictures. You two posed next to each other as your mother took the pictures.
" Alright mom that's enough" you said before grabbing your purse and Austin and he add in to the door.
" Be careful and watch out for each other" your mom yelled as you two slowly stepped out the door. Austin quickly grabbed your hand and intertwined your fingers as you made your way to his car. He quickly released your hand and helped you into the car before running around the car and getting in. After a twenty minute drive you and Austin pulled up to the lodge that was holding your prom. Austin quickly found a parking spot and pulled into before getting out and rushing around to your side and helping you out. You smiled at him before taking his hand and walking towards the building.
" Nate's not here yet so I'm just going to hang with you for a little bit" I said as we made our way into the building. You and Austin stepped inside and we're amazed by what you saw. Snowflakes were lightly strung from the ceiling along with white twinkling lights. The tables were covered with white tablecloths and centerpieces that had white roses in them surrounded by fake snow.
An hour had passed and you hadn't heard or scene Nate the entire time. You had slowly began to the he was blowing you off, but it wasn't till the second hour that your suspicions were confirmed. You felt a few tears run down your face and to u quickly made your way out of the room and into the empty girls restroom crying. A few seconds had gone by before you heard the doors open and close before you quickly shuffled towards a stall, you were just about to close the door when Austin slid in behind you. You had locked the door and stood there
For a few seconds before a warm pair of arms were wrapped around your waste. You quietly cried into his chest as he quietly whispered into your ear that everything was gonna be okay. You pull away from the warm embrace and smile up at him and thank him.
" And if it makes you feel any better I'll be your date" he said with a small smile. You looked at him and smiled before placing a quick peck to his cheek.
" I would like that" you said before taking his hand and heading out of the girls bathroom. You two made it into the room of sweaty teenagers and looked around before deciding to just go back to his place not feeling the mood anymore. You had quickly arrived to his house and noticed his mom wasn't home.
" Wanna go hang out in my room" Austin asked as he slowly helped you out of the car. You nodded your head yes as he slowly grabbed your hand and led you upstairs. You walked into his room and plopped down on his bed. You two sat there in silence before Austin stood up and walked across the room. You sat up and watched him as he messed around a with something.
" What are you doing" you asked as he continues what he was doing.
" You'll see he said" before turning around and making his way towards you. Soft music began to play and he reached out for you. You smiled lightly before taking his hand and standing up. You two had slowly started to sway back and forth. You slowly rested your arms around his neck and nuzzle you head into his chest. His hands were on your waist as he slowly rubbed circles in your back. You felt him place a small kiss to the top of your head. You looked up to be met by Austin's hazel eyes. You looked into them and felt warm and happy. You had felt at home. You watched as his eyes glanced down at your lips and back up before he slowly leaned in pressing his forhead to yours and letting at a small breath. The hot air bounced off your lips and he leaned down just a little bit pressing his lips against yours. You slid a hand into his hair as you kissed back. He quickly pulled you in closer and holds you as if your about to leave. You two finally pull apart resting your head against his with a small smile and looking up at his eyes.
" I love you" he whispered as his lips just barely brushed yours again. A giant smiled played across your lips at his soft spoken words.
" I love you too" you whispered back causing a smile to appear on Austin's face. He leaned down again and reconnected his lips with yours. You two pulled away and continued to sway along to the song that was playing through the speakers. You were happy, not with the way the night had started but with the way it ended.
