After Grace visited each of the ninja in their own lives, they were all invited by Master Chen to his Tournament of Elements. Along with her theory being correct that Zane is indeed, ALIVE. She met a few strange elemental masters before finally arriving at the island...

We all watched the sunrise over the island. And I don't know about anyone else, but I'm ready for anything at this point. Even while running on like 4 hours of sleep. The paddle/steamboat horn blared as we all stayed gathered at the front of the ship to watch it get closer to the docks. It was certainly an amazing view, but I don't know how long it will last.

"Look at that." Cole commented as footsteps approached behind us. I could already tell it was Karloff. Kai made his own comment, jaw dropped in awe. But that didn't last long when Karloff purposefully bumped into him, pushing him forward. I could already see the steam coming out of his ears.

"Do you mind?" Kai asked, getting into a fighting stance. Karloff did the same as I caught the gazes of the elemental masters I met hours ago. They all had their arms crossed and were whispering and smirking with each other. I rolled my eyes and grabbed Kai's shoulder.

"Save your fire for later, you'll need it." I said while gently turning him to face me. He glared at me before realizing my serious expression. He sighed and nodded. The boat parallel parked itself(I have no fucking clue how, but it did) and some tattooed dudes put out a plank for us. We all gathered near the exit of the ship.

"Welcome to Chen's Island. The Tournament of Elements welcomes its brave fighters." He welcomes us with open arms, literally and figuratively while walking on the plank to the island.
"Master Chen will be pleased you've returned, Sensei Garmadon." Clouse directed his last words towards Garmie with a narrowed gaze. Mhmm, sureeee.

"The pleasure is all mine, Clouse." Garmadon replied quickly with a slight narrow gaze.

"I'm sure it is." Clouse bickered back, getting the last words of the conversation. He turned around and began leading everyone who was getting off the boat inside the temple. I saw Jay approach him with furrowed brows.

"Definitely feeling some tension between you two." Jay whispered as I stayed back with Lloyd.

"Yeah, and how is it we're on an island I've never seen on any map?" Kai added on.

"And care to explain how the face to Ninjago's most popular noodle house is secretly assembling an underground fighting tournament?" Cole asked while stepping in front of Garmadon to talk. I rolled my eyes and waited for everyone to leave the boat. The three elemental masters sending me different stares. Do they hate me? Or are they trying to be friendly? I can't exactly read minds. Well, I can but I'd rather not.

"Master Chen used to be a friend. Now he's a traitor. During the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against his own kind and sided with the treacherous snakes." Garmadon explained as Lloyd and I walked off the ship and popped up on either side of Cole to face him.

"The battle you and Uncle Wu fought together in? He was an enemy?" Lloyd asked. I raised my brows before we turned to start walking in after everyone else. At least everyone but Skylor.

"Wait, Serpentine Wars? Didn't my mother fight in that war along with you guys too?" I asked as we continued walking ahead. I stood on the left of Garmadon as Lloyd was on his right. He sent me a nod, confirming my answer.

"He used deception to divide the elemental masters. We barely defeated the serpentine, and in a deal for his surrender, Chen was to never leave this island. Little did we know, he'd begin to build his criminal empire from here." Garmadon continued explaining their past. I hummed. I wonder what role my mom played in the war? I should ask him, because lord knows she'll never talk to me about it without me having to ask first and provide solid evidence.
