His Virgin Bride

Chapter 1

-Six Months later-

"Congrats Swasthika.... Your daughter is pregnant" The Doctor proclaimed.

Geetanjali looked with tears at her husband and her parents. It was indeed a good news but had it been a different situation her parents would have been proud and happy. But this news brought only shame and sorrow. Of course which father can feel proud when his daughter turns pregnant just a day after her wedding. It means she lost her virginity before her marriage. 

With a faint and fake smile her mother hugged her and left the room with doctor. Her father glared at her husband with full anger and hatred and next he turned towards her. She dared not look into his eyes until he left the room. Her in-laws were waiting in the hall with full excitement. But there wasn't a drop of enthusiasm in her husband's face. In fact he cared least about her or about her child. He left the room leaving her in complete loneliness and silence.

"Your arrival has made everyone sad and angry. My parents think you are a shame. While for your father you mean nothing."She said as she touched her belly. 

"But I tell you sweetheart, Mumma loves you so much. So what you are a symbol of my haste and immatured act. You are my child. You are gonna be the reason for me to survive in this world. The light that has come to take away the darkness that I had to suffer for the past couple of months...."She sobbed as tears streamed down her cheek.

As she rubbed her hands around her belly, she replayed the recent events of her life that messed up her peaceful and happy life.

~Four months back~

"Hey Geetu.... How was your journey? Prepared well for your Civil Service Exam?"Ramya asked as she got luggage from her.

"It was fine.... Ya... Just a day left for me to write it.... And how is dad?"She asked as they both started to travel in her scooty.

"Your dad is almost fine. Actually he said he will come and pick you up. But your mom and sister were firm in not letting him out."Ramya giggled as they both drove of to her home.

Geetanjali's father did undergo appendicitis surgery a week after she left for her coaching academy. The doctor had advised for two months of rest though it had been almost two months, her mother was particular in keeping him in rest for longer time.

"I wish your mom let's me to take the vehicle. It was always me dropping my daughters at their exams. You know when ever I drop you both for your exams, I feel as though I had achieved great thing in my life which I couldn't do for myself."Her father groaned as Geetanjali took blessings from him.

Her parents had a love marriage. Her father couldn't go for college but he did make his wife pursue her studies years after marriage and made her successful working women, which was highly objected by the other family members. He made sure his two daughter were well educated before their marriage. With her sister being an engineer and married happy, her father's last duty was to make her an IAS officer before he closes his eyes.

"Papa, I know how much desperate you are to escape from mom's cluster. But I am sorry. This time we all are with mom. You have to take rest. Just few more months then, both you and mom can take rest at home, while your IAS daughter goes for her job."Geetanjali hugged him.

"Ya of course we will be at home taking care of your children... What else do we want? We are sure you will clear the exam with good ranking Geetu"Her mom fed her sweet as she prepared to leave.

At the mention of her children Geetanjali blushed thinking of Sharvan. "If you are done with your talking send my daughter for her exam. It is getting late for her, Swasthika."Her father mocked.

"Okay okay... All the best Geetu... Do well... Don't take tension."Her mom wished her as she drove of with Shamika.

"Shamika, stop at the bus stand... Sharvan said he will come to meet me."Geetanjali urged her as Ramya was there to wish her.

"All the best bud. Do well."Ramya wished her.

"Thanks Rams..."Geetanjali searched for Sharvan.

"What are you waiting for Geetu... Go for the exam... You are getting late"Ramya urged her to leave for exam.

"Well let me wait for him.... he promised to be here Ramya" Geetanjali replied while her eyes kept searching for him.

Both Shamika and Ramya kept urging her to go for the exam and not wait for him.

It was only 15 minutes left before the exam gate to get closed while Geetanjali kept waiting to meet Sharvan.

When it was only 5 minutes left, Ramya lost her patience and shouted angrily, "How long are you gonna wait for that bastard Geetanjali? Even if you wait for a day he is not going to come to wish you or see you"

Geetanjali looked dumbfounded at her as she started to rumble, while Shamika tried to stop her from uttering the worst.

"I warned you so many times yet you got fooled around him. He has married that wealthy Rithika with whom he was cheating behind your back"

"She was two months pregnant when they both got married last month"

"You were nothing him but just an entertainment and here you are waiting for that unfaithful jerk to wish you luck. Now go inside the exam and do it well. Go Geetanjali...." with that Ramya's voice started to croak.

For the past 1 month they both tried their level best to hide this from her. They knew this would break her completely. She trusted him so much yet she was left to be broken like nothing.

Ramya could no longer see her friend clinging to such a jerk who doesn't even deserve her friend's hatred. He was just a piece of shit.

Shamika scolded Ramya for opening it up now. She pulled Geetanjali who was at complete stance. She urged her to go inside and pleaded her not to think of this and concentrate in her exam.

Geetanjali was at utter shock. She couldn't take it. She was strong in every aspect. She feared none when she was right. She had everything that a woman should be proud of. But the fact she was cheated, the fact she was fooled, the fact that she made the wrong choice.... That killed her. She always careful and smart in everything she did. But how come she was so blinded in love that she couldn't see this coming?

What made him do this? Was she not true enough? Was her love not enough for him? Did her 2 months break made him to break up with her? But that isn't possible because he has cheated on her back right when he was flirting with her.

With so many thoughts and questions running in her mind she went to attend the exam. This exam was her dream but him was what she thought it to be her future and happiness. She was losing herself. Battling between her emotions and her determination. She had to stay focus and not lose this just because of an undeserving jerk ruined her beliefs and trust. But will she be able to overcome? Will she be able to stand strong?

Isn't strange? We all be strong and go around proudly saying we are mentally strong and nothing can affect us. But the truth is when then situation arises there are only few who survive and manage to be stable. All of us lose ourself when we fall weak. We become emotionally dependent. We want to be pampered, we make irrational decisions, we once again behave like youngsters with no path to go on. But are these worth for the one who caused us this damage?
