A Lost Boy with No Dreams

Late 2014

My eyes hesitantly looked over to yours, drooping towards the floor
And you whispered, smacking us back into reality.

"There are no dreams left alive in this forsaken place"
Shattered fantasies seem to rain on us, and I couldn't even move.
My heart could no longer beat, my mouth unable to open.
The silence and sadness in your tone seemed to be all the sound left in the room

Then you smiled, shyly, and I tried to think of words to describe that I wasn't alone,
That you, too, held the keys to the world.
