As Hiccup glided to the ship Astrid was on, and saw her restrained by four other Vikings, who were dragging her to the edge of the ship - planning to throw her into the ocean.

"Astrid!" He called to her - far enough away from Stoick for him not to hear Astrid's name. Her head snapped to face him, and she struggled harder. With her skill and talent in combat, she was able to twist out of the men's grasp, and kick one of the four men into the ocean, where he promptly sank.

One of the three remaining men used saving the other man as an excuse to run away and lower the anchor for the sinking Viking to grab a hold of. Astrid - not being a murderer - let him do so, and focused on defeating the other two. While she had her back turned, the two men she deliberately ignored recovered, and tried to make a sneak attack on her.

Hiccup closed his wings in one swish to stop him gliding and built up speed in the air. He held his foot out, and kicked one of the men in the jaw, knocking him out cold.

Together, they went back to back and easily took out the remaining three Vikings. The ship now empty and unguarded, they went inside and released all the dragons in it. When they returned, Hiccup spotted the Berkians coming to help them, that Stoick sent earlier. Hiccup told Astrid to move on to the second to last ship to search - trusting that Stoick had released the dragons on the other ship - and went to speak with the Berkians.

"Hey, I'm assuming Stoick sent you?" He asked.

One of the Vikings nodded, grip tight on his axe. "Aye, he did. Now, let me at the Berserkers!"

Hiccup walked directly in front of them. "You will do no such thing. Me and my team can deal with the other two ships - you all need to go back to Stoick and head back to Berk now." His words were cold, and his voice stern, as if he was lecturing young children. "Your first priority should be your Chief - not attacking other Vikings."

The Viking from earlier looked down at his feet, ashamed. A second Viking interrupted, explaining they'd be leaving now, and dragged the first Viking off with them. Hiccup chucked, before gliding to the last ship, letting Astrid handle the other one.

As he explored, he made a mental note that there was only a couple - easy to handle - Vikings attacking him. Unnerved by the absence of attackers (kinda ironic... he thought to himself).

He entered the ship and slowly walked through it, releasing dragons from their cages as he went. He saw a room with chests and gold but decided to ignore it until Astrid was able to join him. As he passed a window, he looked out and spotted Stoick's ships sailing away. Immediately he headed back up to the deck of the ship, and called Toothless down to him, appreciating the comfort they provided each other.

They headed back down and noticed there was more gold in the room with chests. Looking at the suspicious room, Hiccup thought about whether to go in or not. He might have to leave before Astrid arrives, which would make now the best chance he had of obtaining the money. While it's not incredibly useful for him, he could push it towards providing food for them and the dragons - he could give the rest to Berk, as while he doesn't live there anymore - he won't abandon the town completely.

"What do you think, bud?" He asked Toothless, glancing inside the room. He would rather Berk had it instead of Dagur...

Without waiting for Toothless' reply, he stepped inside the room, and glanced around. Immediately, bars flew down from the doorway, trapping Hiccup in the room. There was no window, and while the walls looked wooden - they actually had metal plating in between the walls, meaning Toothless couldn't blast it down.

"Toothless!" Hiccup screamed. "Go now! Grab Astrid, before you both get caught too!"

And Toothless left, trusting in Hiccup.

Hiccup watched Toothless disappear from his vision, containing his anxiety as best as he could, until it bubbled to the surface and he began to softly cry.

He prayed he would never be in a situation like this ever again - and yet here he is.

He sighed, wiping his eyes frustratingly, and sighed.

Toothless would be back soon - with Astrid.

They will help him. Save him.

He sighed once again.

Why is it always him that needs to be saved?

---Elsewhere---

Dagur, watching from the hallway over, smirked and waited for the disgusting reptile to leave before making his move, flicking his sharp, silver knife upwards, and catching it with his other hand.

Hiccup would regret entering his ship.

Both him, and his Night Fury's head would be his.

Yea, I planned for there to be more... filler... before this. However, my brain just decided 'why not?', and here we are. I'll probably do something afterward, so I guess this is the first of two parts of this story - Dagur being the first part and... I don't know, maybe Stoick as the second part?

I probably shouldn't promise anything, as my writing skills are as haphazardous as my publishing schedule XD

Even saying that, I'll do my best to update often - don't wanna let you guys down!

But for now...

Peachy out! 😊
