It's been almost more than a year now since you kissed me inside that cute fort you made.
Since then, I felt myself grow as a person. I stopped relying on others to help me heal. And, I stopped living in the past. I learned that the longer I lingered there, the more the pain inside me would grow. The more the pain would transition to hate and animosity.
And you were there Jennie, watching me become a stronger me.
"Time to go ladies!"
The stage manager said. We were having our first world tour. Feeling nervous was an understatement. But then, you held my hand without me knowing. I jumped in surprised and looked down at you. And, with one cute smile of yours, all my nerves vanished.
"You're going to be amazing."
You told me. I smiled and brought your hand up to my lips and kissed the palm of your hand.
"So will you."
I whispered right back. I faced you and looked down at that hand I always loved to hold. And with my free hand, I reached for my pocket and took out a ring. Our ring. You took in a sharp breath.
"It took me forever to find."
I laughed lightly.
"Didn't know it'd be deep in your underwear drawer."
You gasped and narrowed your eyes playfully with flushed cheeks. I could only wink with a small chuckle,
"Nothing I haven't seen before."
You groaned in annoyance but kept a timid smile on your lips. I smiled in return but then frowned,
"I couldn't find the other one unfortunately."
Your smile widened this time. I watched you lift your hand towards the collar of your shirt. You reached in and before I knew it, you pulled out the ring. It was part of your necklace.
"I didn't have the heart to give it up."
You whispered. You slowly removed your hand from mine and took off the necklace. I then watched you remove the ring from the thin silver chain and place it on the palm of your hand.
"And, I never will."
You said, lifting your gaze to mine. You reached for my hand and gently placed the ring onto my finger. And, without waiting a second, I did the same to you. We met each others eyes again and laughed to ourselves.
"It's just like the first time we bought these rings."
I said. Your eyes teared up at that. I smiled when you giggled breathlessly and said,
"It is."
I smiled and watched my thumb caress the smooth surface of the ring. The sight gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling. A beautiful feeling really, something I haven't felt in such a long time. My heart fluttered and continued to jump wildly in my chest.
"Jennie, I—."
"It's show time love birds!"
Jisoo shouted, pushing me ahead. Well, shoving me out the door was more like it. I yelped in surprised and glared at the teasing raven haired girl, but hearing you laugh and smiling your gummy smile, I giggled as well.
