Chapter 6...The Escape
***Clyde***
"I really don't think you're mind is functioning properly right now." Michael said to Amethyst. Michael was right. This whole concept of us being The New Generation was...insane. But I also knew it was the only way possible to explain what has been going on lately. Nothing about me and Amethyst was normal.
"I'm going to report you to the Woodland centre's police patrol." Michael said looking at Amethyst. "No, please listen! We are you're only hope!" Amethyst begged trying to reason with Michael. "Do you know anything about this?" he asked. I paused for a second. "No. I know nothing. The girl has gone insane. My sister has gone insane." I said and looked at Amethyst.
"Well, that settles it." Michael said. "Clyde...how could you..." Amethyst said stunned and hurt by my words. "Shut up Amethyst. The hog must've poisoned you with that arrow. You are definitely not thinking straight." I said. "Ok then. Come with me young lady." Michael said and grabbed Amethyst roughly by the arm. "Wait!" I yelled. "I would like to speak to her first. Maybe she'll inform me about a few important things." I said to Michael.
"Why would that be necessary?" Michael asked in suspicion. "Well, she is kind of my sister." I said. "Maybe she can give us more information about...I don't know...The New Generation." I said trying to keep a straight face. "Why would she know anything about The New Generation?" Michael asked. "Doesn't she seem the least bit suspicious to you?" I asked Michael. He sighed and let go of Amethyst's arm.
"What the heck Clyde!" Amethyst said as we both walked down a long corridor out of earshot. "We need to run. Escape. I believe you." I said. "What are you talking about?" she asked completely confused. "Amethyst, what you said is true." I said as I stopped walking. I forced myself to look directly into her light blue eyes. "I know that we are The New Generation." I said relaxing my tense muscles.
"Then why did you...you were...in the...with Michael..." "Look, Amethyst. It was called acting. I know I'm amazing at it, but we need to leave. Now." I said. Michael would probably be searching for us right now. If we didn't get out of this infirmary soon, Michael would have us both arrested.
"Clyde, you-" "Yes. I believed you from the moment you told Michael that we were The New Generation. Everything that had happened...everything that we had done, was all-" "There you are!" Michael said running down the corridor. "Run." I said to Amethyst as we both sprinted towards the exit.
"Security!" I heard Michael scream from behind us. "I didn't think they had security in such a small centre like this." Amethyst said as we ran out the exit door. Once we were outside of the infirmary, there was a large crowd standing before us. I looked up at the sky. It was a blackish-blue shade with a few stars shining brightly. "Uhh..." Amethyst stammered trying to squeeze herself through all the people. I too, was having difficulty squeezing my body through all of the people. "Look! It's the two heroes!" someone shouted. Everybody cheered and walked towards us.
"Michael is definitely going to find us now." I said as I cursed under my breath. "Amethyst! There you are! I'm so glad to see that your alive!" someone said coming up from behind us. It was Lady Danielle. "Lady Danielle!" Amethyst said walking towards her. For once in my life, I was actually happy to see her. Both Amethyst and I needed to tell her about what had happened.
"Oh my, I thought you weren't going to make it. How are you feeling?" Lady Danielle asked Amethyst. "Better than ever." Amethyst said and flashing her a quick smile. "Uh, sorry to interrupt your little conversation, but we need to talk. Now." I said. Lady Danielle gave me an icy glare sending a small shiver down my spine. She really did not like me. "Yes, it's actually very important." Amethyst said.
"Okay. You two can come with me back to my casita. This...mob of people is getting a little out of hand." Lady Danielle said as we followed her to her casita. I looked back to catch a glimpse sight of Michael. There were two muscular men standing alongside of him, with blue jackets and writing across their uniforms that said "SILVIENT CENTRE POLICE" in bolded letters. I smiled in relief knowing that they wouldn't be able to catch up to us anytime soon.
"I wonder how she's going to react to...everything." Amethyst whispered softly. "Who? Lady Danielle?" I asked. "No, Clyde. I'm talking about some random civilian on the street. Of course I'm talking about Lady Danielle!" she shouted sarcastically. "Everything alright?" Lady Danielle asked as we kept walking. "Yeah, everything's fine." I said glaring at Amethyst. She smiled and shrugged her shoulders innocently.
Once we reached Lady Danielle's large casita, we stepped inside and sat down comfortably on the couch. "So tell me," Lady Danielle said looking at Amethyst. "How are you feeling? What had happened at the infirmary?" she asked curiously. Amethyst looked at me and took a deep breath. "We have a lot to explain." she said biting her lip and looking at me. "Okay," Lady Danielle said, "Spill."
That's exactly what I did. I explained everything. Every single small detail was included in my long explanation. I told her about how Amethyst and I arrived in the bloodbath, how we saw Jaden Addison dead, and our arrival to Silvient centre. I explained about how Amethyst got shot by the scorch hog, about Michael, and I even told her about the whole idea of us being the New Generation. Lady Danielle had an extremely shocked expression on her face when I finally finished explaining everything.
"So...yeah. That's about it." I said looking at her. "Do you believe us?" Amethyst asked. "Of course I believe you. It sounds like something Michael would do-" "No. I mean do you believe that we're The New Generation?" I asked. Lady Danielle paused for a moment before speaking again. "Yes. Yes I do." she said looking at us.
I sighed in relief. Lady Danielle was the only one that actually believed us. "What makes you want to believe us?" Amethyst asked. "What do you mean?" Lady Danielle replied confused. Amethyst looked at Lady Danielle. "When I told Michael about the whole concept of us being The New Generation, didn't believe me. Michael wanted me arrested for being crazy." Amethyst said.
"So, what makes you different? What makes you want to believe us?" I asked. "Hope." she said. "Ever since The New Generation was created, I felt something so much different. I felt as if we were finally going to have freedom in our lives. I felt...hope." Lady Danielle said to us. "But once the news flashed on the TV about the death of the Addison's earlier today, I knew that Jaden Addison, the upcoming superior of the Woodland centre, would never allow The New Generation to be destroyed." she said.
I was confused. "Wait a minute. So, you're saying that you believed The New Generation was never destroyed?" I asked. She nodded. "I believed that it was never destroyed. I still had faith that it was out there somewhere. I still had hope. And that's what makes me believe you." Lady Danielle said.
I looked at Amethyst and smiled. "So...when should we leave?" I asked. "Wait a minute! Hold it right there!" Lady Danielle said frowning at both of us. "Where do you gals think you're going?" she asked. "Well, we kind of have to stop the commander from incinerating this city into scorch hogs in two weeks time." I said. She rolled her eyes at me. "At one o'clock in the morning Clyde?" she asked.
"It's one o'clock already?" Amethyst asked in shock. "Yes. You passed out for about five hours." I said to her. "Oh, goodness! That means you gals have probably been awake for more than 24 hours." Lady Danielle said. "You two need to get some sleep. You can fight off the scorch hogs tomorrow morning if that makes you feel any better." she said. I smiled. "Thanks." I said and started to head up the staircase.
"Wait!" Lady Danielle yelled. "You two gals didn't have lunch or dinner. Let me make you something quick before you gals start sleeping." she said walking to the kitchen.

After about ten minutes of waiting, she had two hot bowls of chicken soup in her hands. I was so glad to finally see the sight of food. Especially chicken soup. "Ya know, we're the centre that provides all of the food supplies. Everything here is made-" "Hot and fresh." Amethyst and I said at the exact same time. We all laughed and cracked a few jokes as we drank our delicious soup. I was having such a great time that for once, I actually pushed aside the thought that we were all going to be scorch hogs in two weeks.
