Chapter 25 and 27

"Urghh!" Rebekah groaned as her maid servant quickly applied a wet cloth to her forehead to calm her down.

"It's okay, you're almost there" another maiden who sat in front of her, waiting for the child's head to appear, assured her.

She gasped for air as she held the last maiden at her left, tighter. Her belly too big to see the maiden crouched in front of her. Isaac sat just outside the tent, waiting for his sons to be born.

"Argh!" Rebekah screemed as she remember the words of God

Two nations are in your womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from your bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

Rebakah breathed in deeply and slowly breathed out. I can do this, after waiting for so long, I'm finally going to get my children. With that, she let out one more warrior cry.

"Yes, that's it" the maiden said as she brought out the bloodied baby, only for a second hand to come out and hold the first's leg. The maiden stared in shock and slowly released his leg from his brother's grip before delivering the next baby.

The first was called Esau, while the second, Jacob.

Esau walked into the house, sweaty and dirty, with a bag of game on his back.

"My boy" Isaac said, smiling at him. " what did you catch this time?" Esau laughed a little, knowing that was how eager he knew his father would be. Isaac really enjoyed the meat gotten from Esau's hunt.

"You know, just two deer" He tried to say nonchalantly, but his smile gave him away.

" That's my boy" Isaac said, patting his back. Esau carried his game off his back, his big hairy muscles flexing, and drooped it on the floor; only for Rebekah to poke her head from the kitchen and frown at him.

"Nuh uh, get that thing off the floor" Esau quickly carried his bag with a sheepish smile.

"Sorry mum, forgot" she smiled at him then waved her hand.

"Go have a shower, I can smell your armpits from over here" she turned back to the food she was making with Jacob.

"He's even later today" Jacob said without facing his mum. She laughed and faced him

"As long as you're here, it's okay"

"Here you go" Jacob said, serving his brother and dad when they were finally done cooking.

"Smells nice" Esau said, wetting his lips.

"Of course it does" Jacob said smugly as he sat down beside his brother. They then joined hands and blessed the food.

"Jacob" Rebekah said as she walked towards the front door " I'll be going out for sometime, don't wait for me"

"Sure" he said from the dining. Just before she was about to step out, he called her again.

"Hey mum, Esau didn't eat before leaving again." But she only shrugged and left.

Jacob sighed and went into the kitchen to prepare some sod pottage. As soon as he finished, Esau came in, gasping for air.

He groaned as he slumped into one of the chairs and lay down his head.

"No luck today?" Jacob asked when he saw his bag was empty. Esau slowly shook his head.

"Hey, I'm hungry to death, please give me some of what you prepared " he weakly said, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead.
