My heads down on the desk as the teachers saying her final goodbyes of the year, I listen to the sound of the clock tick waiting for the final siren to go off. The siren blows and its music to my ears, it's summer holidays thank god I can finally leave this stupid school. I walk out the doors and look up to the sky the sun is glaring in my eyes and the warm summer wind is flowing through my hair. I hear my name being yelled "MAYA" I turn around to see my boyfriend Caleb smiling sweetly at me. Caleb and I have been dating for about 10 months, Caleb has short brown hair, brown eyes, slightly sun tanned skin and is quite tall and I have light brown hair that flows just past my shoulders, blue eyes, fair skin and a slim build. We both go to a private school and in the same grade, although he's 17 and I'm 16. It was kind of a forced relation ship as our parents are both super rich and are best friends but I still really do love him, his house is about a 15 minute walk away from mine which is a good distance.

Caleb holds my hand softly as I look up to him smiling "Summer finally" I say sweetly, Caleb smirks at me "Luckily Western Australia has lovely beaches" he says, I giggle "you just want to see me in my bikini" I say as he winks at me. We continue walking to my house talking about how amazing this summer is going to be and how excited we are for our final year of high school. I walk into my house with Caleb and yell out to let my mum know we're home, we quickly run up the stairs to my bedroom having a little race like we always did but this time my stupid older sister got in the way, I knew she had a thing for guys like Caleb plus she's 17 almost 18 like Caleb which made me really anxious about them too ever being together, but luckily she looks nothing like me, Sara has dirty blond hair, slightly tanned skin and is about 2cm taller then me. "Be careful walking up the stairs Maya, you might break them next time" she said death staring me while walking away. The only description for my sister is bitch, I sometimes wonder if we're even related.

It was dinner time, Caleb was staying for dinner like he normally does on a Thursday evening, Caleb and I were sitting next to each other directly facing my parents and my sister was at one end of the table. "Good evening" Mr & Mrs Smith Caleb said politely which both my parents replied with good evening. I was thinking to myself if it was the right time to tell my mother and father that I want to go to a public school to study art, I mean telling my parents this is probably worse then telling them I'm pregnant but it's been my dream to do art. Mum looked at me "So are you ready for your senior year Maya?" She smiled, "well mum not real.." She cut me off "your father and I will continue to pay for your expensive fees" she said happily, "No mum, I really want to go to Balcatta and study art" I said nervously. The table went silent, even Caleb was shocked, "Maya, this is not a good time for such nonsense, Caleb you're excused for the night and Maya your father and I will see you up in your room shortly" mum said disappointed, "but mum.." I said upset, "no buts about it" she said raising her voice.

I put my head face down into the pillow and started tearing up, why can't I study art it's my life my choice. My door knocked and my mum barged in "Maya, you're grounded until you can knock some sense into yourself" she said slamming my door shut. She thinks she's perfect doesn't she. I walked out onto my balcony watching the sunset and hoping I can talk to my parents about this in the morning.

I jump to the sound of a bang outside my window, I rub my eyes and see the sunshine peeping through my curtains I check my phone and see a text from my best friend Ashley asking if I want to meet up today I quickly explain that I'm grounded while walking towards my balcony, The Robinson family must of moved out, all I could see was next doors house covered with move in trucks I couldn't believe my eyes with how many musical instruments one household could have, it was like some kind of music band. I laughed at the thought of how pissed off my parents would be if there was music being played all night.
