Lisa's POV
Its been almost a month since we have been placed here and it scares me how close Lauren is getting to them. I know that leaving is going to be so much harder on her this time around. she is starting to open up to these people who are just going to end up hurting her. they are not our forever the only forever we have is each other. Lauren is sitting at the piano as Christina plays. They are talking about Lauren getting her case off tomorrow and Christina teaching her to play.
"Hey Lisa" Katherine's voice comes from behind me. I turn meeting the taller girl's brown eyes. "I am going to youth group tonight you should come with me"
"I will think about it" Going means leaving Lauren for a few hours. What if she has another panic attack and they don't know how to help her?
"she will be okay here for a few hours" Kath said like she was reading my mind. "mom said she was going to take the younger kids out for ice cream anyway. When was the last time you did something for yourself?" I don't have time to do stuff for myself I have a little sister that depends on me. It's easy for them they don't have to worry 24/7 about their siblings. They don't understand what is like. I was Lauren's age when we went into the system, Lauren was four. At first, I was so mad, I acted out and that I got us kicked out of quite a few homes when we were younger. Those were the good homes, of course back then I didn't see it that way.
They didn't have to hide their little sister in between themselves and the wall at night because their teenage foster brother had a thing for little girls. "Moose" Lauren said pulling me out of my train of thought. "you can go out with Kath I will be okay" she reached out for my hand.
"you sure Bug? I can stay here if you want" what if I do go out and something happens to her? it will be my fault that I wasn't here to protect her.
"Yes" she giggled nodding her head. "Lynne is going to take me for ice cream go have fun" she squeezed my hand.
"my little fetus is growing up. Doesn't need me anymore" I pouted drawing another laugh from her as I pulled her into a hug.
"I will always need you" she hugged me back. "just not as much" she pulled back slowly meeting my eyes.
"so, is that a yes?" Kath asked putting her hand on my shoulder. I nodded making her squeal behind me. I got ready for youth group and stopped to say goodbye to Lauren. She was in her room dancing with Dani.
"Lo I am leaving" I peeked my head in.
"Bye Lise" she ran over to my giving me a hug. Dani quickly followed suit hugging me too.
"Bye Lo. Bye Dan" I smiling as they went back to dancing. She looks so happy like a normal little girl without a care in the world. How long will this last? What will it do for her when they get sick of us? I shook my head trying to get rid of those thoughts.
The ride to youth group was filled with small talk. I don't know if I am going to fit in with those teens. Since moving here, I haven't really made any friends yet I don't try because what is the point. I never know how long I am going to be in that home. I hung back as everyone talked. "you're Lisa Katherine's sister, right?" a girl's voice came from behind me.
"her foster sister" I corrected turning to meet her blue eyes. "you are?" I asked raising a brow.
"Hailey" she stuck her hand out for me. I gave her a questionable look shaking her hand. "so how long are you going to be staying with them?"
"I don't know. I don't really have a say in it" I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes.
"oh well if you are still around on next Friday, I am having a party. You should come" she smirked. "my parents are going out of town for the weekend so it will be fun"
