This is the longest one i have written.

She blankly stared ahead; her arms wrapped around herself. She hummed to herself her finger drawing patterned on her forearm. "Lisa" I said softly earning her attention. I held out my hand for her. She took my hand holding it tightly as we sat in the waiting room. "its going to be okay" I rubbed my thumb against the top of her hand.

"you don't know that" she muttered locking her brown eyes on mine for only a moment before dropping them back to her lap. "what if something wrong?" her voice cracked. I pulled my hand away to wrap my arm around her shoulder. "what if it was a false positive?" her body shook with her sobs.

"don't think like that. We are going to go in there soon and we will see your little bean on the screen" I said softly trying to calm her fears. Even though I had the same fears swimming in mind. I don't know if she would be able to handle another loss.

After the last miscarriage she didn't get out of bed for weeks. She beat herself up blaming herself for not being able to carry a child even after IVF. Six times she got her hopes up only for them to come crumbing down around her breaking her more each time.

I closed my eyes remember the look in her eyes as she told me how Chad brought up using a surrogate. The moment she told me that I told her I would do it, knowing it would put her mind at ease knowing the person carrying her child.

I went through countless test and weeks preparing my body to carry my niece or nephew. Now here we are today waiting for our first ultrasound. "Lauren Cimorelli" a nurse walked out calling out my name. I pulled away from Lisa standing up. Lisa grabbed my hand as we walked back to the room. "okay now because how early you are in your pregnancy, we are going to do a Transvaginal Ultrasound." The nurse smiled warmly at me. "there is a gown right there for you to change into" I nodded my head returning a smile. "okay I will give you a few minutes" The nurse walked out of the room so I could get changed.

Lisa sank down in the chair saying a silencing a prayer to herself while I got changed into the gown. I took a deep breath saying a pray to as I took a seat on the exam table. "do you want to pray together?" I asked holding my hands out for her. She pushed herself up grabbing my hands as she closed her eyes.

"Dear Lord please look over me and the child I am carrying" I said softly.

"Watch over my selfless sister as she grows this gift of life inside her. Please lord let this be a health pregnancy that leans birth of a healthy child" she squeezed my hands silently thanking me again.

We finished our prayer saying amen right as the Dr. Robbins stepped into the room. "Good afternoon ladies are we ready to get our first look at this little one" She smiled brightly looking over my chart. "first we will go through a routine checkup and some questions." I nodded my head running my fingers through my dark curls.

After she checked me over and I answered all the questions it was time for the ultrasound I laid back on the table putting my legs up on the holders. I put my hand out for Lisa who took it instantly squeezing it. "thank you Laur" she whispered closing her eyes.

"now there might be some discomfort at first" Dr Robbins said pulling the chair up to the table. I squeezed Lisa hand as Dr. Robbins inserted the wand inside me. "okay now in a few second you should see your baby on the screen. It will look like a little seed in a sac at this stage"

I chewed on my lip turning my attention to the screen. There was two sac looking things on the screen and I wasn't sure which one was the baby.

"Everything looks to be on track for five weeks along" Dr. Robbins said look at the screen. "congratulations its twins"
