That Same Night
The laser charges and hits the crystal, smashing it to pieces. The ground below Krevaskio cracks violently, creating a shockwave greater than anything ever seen.
Isaboki awoke from his dreamscape. He observed the room around him, greeted with nothing and nobody except Soranu next to him. He let out a sigh of relief.
"Will these memories ever go away?" He thinks to himself. "It's been years, why can't I just forget what happened?"Isaboki had always been haunted by what he witnessed back in his home region. The losses, the experiments, the destruction. Everything and everyone that he'd ever loved had left him at some point, but never out of free will.
Everything except one thing. Her.He looks towards Soranu again. Her head peacefully resting against his fur-covered body.
Soranu was the first real friend that he ever met, back when he only had his mother and his pet Chiki. She was shy at first, hiding behind her mother, but she opened up quicker than anybody else would, especially considering how different Isaboki is to her.
She forgot about the differences that both Isaboki and herself had. And even when she didn't forget, she never saw it as a hindrance. She meant the world to Isaboki, literally. He never would've stepped away from his home if it wasn't for her, let alone save it.
And he has Soranu to thank for it.But it wasn't just them two that has been through tough times. Their other friends, mainly Tyrantus and Rhenamo, had been through worse.
Tyrantus was turned into a creature that he wasn't: Transformed into a dragon taller than most buildings it came across. And if it wasn't for his golden leader, he would've remained that way, or worse.
Rhenamo on the other hand was missing his body as a whole, hiding inside of Isaboki's for years on end. It wasn't until he finally showed himself when he got it back.As for both Flame and Ember, they'd only recently met them, after visiting another city. They met them in the confines of the grand castle grounds there, and they seemed to be much more open than the other dragons, and also a lot less interruptive and rude.
The only real reason that they were all even in this city is because Krevaskio was destroyed by Kyrasklis: Isaboki's own father.
The grand crystal that provided the magic and life for the city was shattered to pieces, meaning that Isaboki had no choice but to migrate to another city.
First came Tryvantia, where they met Ember and Flame, and now Warfang.Isaboki and his friends had been through a rough time, especially considering that he'd lost so much on the way. But he remained strong, and here he was, staying in the very same Temple that Spyro and his friends were.
Dawn, 15th of Capricorn
Isaboki awoke to the feeling of something nudging him.
"Get up, fur ball." Soranu said, pressing her head against his shoulder to wake him.
Isaboki opened up his eyes sluggishly, letting out a powerful yawn. "Good morning to you too." he replied sarcastically.
"Why do I need to be awake, anyway?" Isaboki asked. Soranu stood up suddenly and averted eye contact.
"Oh, uh, Spyro wanted to talk to you..."
Isaboki lowered his eyelids. "That's not why, is it?"
Soranu sighed and lied back down. "You know me too well."She lied right beside Isaboki, resting her head upon his shoulder. He placed his wing above her. Soranu wrapped her arms around him.
"Don't get too comfortable, I'm not your pillow." Isaboki stated.
Soranu grunted. "Well you feel like one, now be quiet. Pillows don't talk."
He smiled. "Well you don't hug a pillow, do you?"
"Yeah, well, this pillow can hug me back."Soranu carried on placing her head in a comfortable position before immobilising herself entirely.
"You didn't have to wake me up for this, you know." Isaboki started. "You can do it pretty much whenever you want, even if I'm asleep."
Soranu smiles. "I know, but it's more comfortable when you can hug me back." She gave him a sweet look. "I'm sure there's no harm in that."
"There's no harm."
Isaboki finally submitted to her embrace and returned it.Moments later, there was a subtle knock at the door. After being granted permission, the dragon at the door opened it up.
It was Lilith. "My father wants to know if you want to go to the market with him and my mother."
"Do you want to?" Isaboki asks Soranu.
"I'll go, sure thing." she replied.
Lilith nodded and left the room, shutting the door behind her.Soranu looked at Isaboki with an expression that seemed almost upset.
"We'll be back, you can use me as a pillow later, okay?" he asks.
Soranu rolls her eyes. "Fine." she whines, slowly getting up and leaving the room.
Isaboki gets up. "Classic Soranu."———————————————
