Hours Later, Dusk

The sky darkened as the Sun dropped suddenly below the land, and the chill of the night swept in once again. A minor snowstorm was rolling in for the night, and all of the dragons were fast asleep within the living quarters of the Dragon Temple.

Each group of dragons has their own quarters: A child plus their parents would stay in one, whilst the other adults stayed with each other.
Spyro, Cynder and Lilith were in one, Maya and Rhonan had Dante, and Ouranos shared with Arkhalis and Relic.
As for the others, Isaboki and Soranu were with each other, Rhenamo and Tyrantus shared, as did Flame and Ember.

From one of the doorways came a quiet creak, and a young dragon snuck out of the room, carrying something in their grip.
He headed out to a balcony, where snow fell upon the ground at rapid speed and in high quantities.
The dragon put it upon the floor: It was a small book. Dante got his quill ready, but before he wrote anything, he heard somebody speak to him.

"You've done something good today, Dante." the voice stated.
Dante nodded. "I know. That Teran kid just had to spit something out of that dirty mouth of his."
"Calm yourself. You did what was right. You do not need to worry about it anymore."
"You're right, but that's not what worries me." Dante began to stutter. "I-It's her that worries me."

"You should not worry about a problem that you have the potential to fix." the voice continued. "Besides, have you ever considered that she might be concerned about you?"
Dante shook his head. "She won't worry about me. Nobody ever does."
"Dante..."
"Dante..."
The voice stopped, and a real one spoke up from a few metres behind him. Dante turned around and closed the book, finding that Lilith was stood there.
She took a few steps forward, sitting down beside him. "Who were you talking to?"
"That... that doesn't matter."

Lilith took a moment to process what she saw. She witnessed Dante speaking at thin air, like there was a real person there, but nobody was. It was a sight that she would've never expected to see.
"What's this book you've got here?" Lilith asked. "Are you writing something?"
Dante looked at it. "Oh, this is a little journal I have." Dante pushed the book and quill to the side, nervously smiling. "It's nothing too special." he said, stuttering slightly.
"Okay, well, I'll leave you to whatever you were doing." Lilith responds, walking away slowly.
Dante sighs with relief. "I should be going back too."

Dante makes his way back to his parents, placing the book to his side. He curled up and shut his eyes, drifting off fairly quickly.
But Lilith stood outside the open door, waiting for him to fall asleep. Once he had, Lilith snuck into the room and took hold of his book. She opened up the very first page, and was greeted with exactly what Dante claimed it to be: A journal.

She started reading it.
My mother told me today that writing a journal could help me take my mind off things, keep me busy. And I guess she was right, because it does work out. I've always got something to do now.
Lilith didn't think much of the contents at first, considering that Dante hadn't lied about what was in it.

However, as Lilith read on, her expression changed dramatically.
At least, something to do that isn't either questioning everything, crying or regretting something.
She couldn't believe what she was reading.
Questioning? Regretting? Crying? Why would he write this down, or even feel that way? Dante has never been someone to question things or be upset.

What happened to him?

Lilith refused to carry on reading through, as she could feel a tear forming in her eye. She gently closed the book and put it back down, then hastily put it back by Dante's side. She went back to her room, closing both his and her doors.
