A/N: I can't guarantee this fic will be good but I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. It's kinda like a practice story, so I can what I can improve on. Anyway besides that, this is a slightly modern au, they have cars and tv and stuff. I'm not taking this story that seriously so spare me some hate lmao
She Ra and cover photo do not belong to me.
Enjoy!
Also this fic will be somewhat mature, or just flat out mature. It will have mentions of swears and adult themes.

Adora's POV

Adora sat up and stretched, she was still tired from last night. She had gotten home from a party she was invited to by her friend Glimmer. As Adora got ready she thought about how she was finally able to move out of Glimmer and Bow's house to her own. The blonde walked out of her room and into the kitchen to make herself a healthy shake and hit the gym. Even though she had her own house she did feel pretty lonely, maybe she should get a roommate or pet or something.
Once she was at the gym she immediately went to the treadmill after her stretches. The treadmill was one of her favorite activities to do at the gym besides weight lifting and push ups. As she put in her earbuds to listen to music while she did her exercises she caught sight of a catgirl, a bit shorter than her. Adora realized she was staring and looked away to focus on getting into a zone, but she couldn't keep her thoughts off the catgirl. Have I seen her somewhere? Adora thought. She tried very hard to remember, but nothing came to mind. Though a part of it lingered in the back of her mind.

Catra's POV

Catra's scowl deepened as she toned out Scorpia's rambling. "Hey uh, wildcat, you listening?" Scorpia nervously asked before Catra shot a look at her, flattening her ears. "That stupid dumb blonde, I never would've thought she'd move here, to BrightMoon. She never struck me as a city person." Catra blurted before seeing the hurt on her lover's face, "Oh uh definitely, yeah!" Scorpia hid her hurt and agreed with her girlfriend. Scorpia had the biggest crush on Catra in school and since Adora got adopted into a new family around early highschool Catra decided to become Scorpia's girlfriend out of spite in her best friend abandoning her. Though Scorpia was so very sure Catra would forget about the dumb blonde and see her, but she was very wrong. Catra was still side glaring at the blonde on the treadmill, her tail twitching in anger. "M-maybe we should go? I know this great restaurant do-" Scorpia was interrupted by more curses flowing out of Catra's mouth, directed towards the blonde.
Catra had followed Adora all throughout the gym, eyeing her in sheer spite and anger where the blonde went. "C'mon, lets go." Catra hissed at her girlfriend before grabbing a pincer and dragging the scorpion human breed up to Adora.

Adora's POV

Adora saw the catgirl and her companion walking up to her, so she stood up from doing her sit-ups and pushups to greet them. Lightly dusting herself off, "Oh, hello! Do you need something?" Adora said politely, but she couldn't help but noticing the catgirl's twitching tail and spiteful look. Though the look stopped once the catgirl started talking to her, "Hey Adora," she smirked, "Long time no see, I mean ever since you left me to be with your adoptive parents after promising we'd always be together." She deadpanned at her before forcing a polite smile. Adora looked confused, she didn't know this dark haired girl. Catra saw this and said "We went to school together..? Remember?" She said slowly and Adora swore a lightbulb lit up above her head Oh yeah! We did go to school together... Adora thought before more memories came flooding back, oh. She had gotten adopted and had to transfer to a different school. Catra was so upset when she left.
"This is my girlfriend, Scorpia. She's great, you really start to like her after talking to her once." Catra patted Scorpia's pincer and the white haired girl looked so happy. Adora gave a small smile, "I remember her having the biggest crush on you before we were freshmen. I'm so happy for you two!" She congratulated them with a smile, but noticed Catra's ears flatten to her head. "You miss me much?" Catra said lowly as she eyed her claws casually, as if she didn't care. Adora blinked, "I mean I missed you, but I ended up making new friends and meeting new people! It was great." Adora said as she began to pack her bags and heard Catra hiss. "Oh I didn't know your friends back in FrightZone we're just so expendable huh?!" Adora stopped packing up, she stood up again and frowned, "Catra you know I didn't mean it like that. I meant we all drifted apart, I can't control that! You didn't even want to talk to me before I left.." Adora said quietly and sadly, she saw a brief look of regret on Catra's face before it twisted into a look she couldn't pin down. "Whatever, I'll see you around." Catra scoffed and dragged Scorpia out of the building, Scorpia glared before following after Catra. Adora sighed and packed up the rest of her things before heading out and home so she could get ready to go shopping with Glimmer, Perfuma, and Bow.
Adora wore a light blue short sleeve tee and black jeans. Adora stretched and let out a loud yawn before going to meet up with Glimmer and Bow outside.
Once they got to the mall Adora swallowed once she saw Scorpia there. I hope there isn't any drama between us... Adora thought as she followed the group to the clothing section, "I was hoping we could go to the beach or something." Perfuma suggested as she picked out a bathing suit, probably for herself, "Nothing like a good vacation every once in awhile." She hummed and put it back as Glimmer agreed. Adora could see Scorpia looking at her from a side glance but decided not to confront her about it.

Catra's POV

Catra growled and paced in her living room, Melog looking confused tried to comfort their companion. Catra just huffed before plopping onto the couch. "I didn't think I'd miss her this much when I saw her Melog.." Catra admitted as Melog rubbed their cheek against Catra's, letting out a sad meow. "What do I do?" She wondered as she pet the creature. She put her face in her clawed hands and groaned in annoyance as Melog kept meowing. She suddenly hissed at the creature, "I am NOT obsessed with her!" She denied but Melog just looked unimpressed and kept going on, Catra hissed louder before yelling, "I'm not obsessed with her!" Her yell startled the creature, "Oh Melog, I'm sorry. I'm just..I dunno okay? I'm not obsessed I just miss her." She sighed as Melog straightened itself before continuing to rub its cheek against Catra's letting out more meows at her. "You think I should talk to her about it? But where do I start.." She quietly wondered as she rubbed a spot behind Melog's ears.
