══════════════════════════snow. the first thing olivia saw when she looked through her blinds this tuesday morning was snow. she giggled and quickly grabbed her phone, taking a picture of it as it fell and sent it to her sister so she could show her son. olivia loved snow like children loved candy and when she moved to london and experienced it for the first time she cried, hard. her coworkers laughed at her and said she was being ridiculous but she didn't mind. it wasn't what she had expected snow to be- it was cold, wet, clumpy, and very much not like it was in the movies- but it was snow and she was grateful. by now she had gotten somewhat used to it but it still excited her, sometimes dragging her friends at work outside to make snow angels with her when they had a break. although mostly it was just her making snow angels and her coworkers watching on in amusement
snow wasn't the only thing exciting her this morning though. this morning would be the first time she saw emily since their last elevator ride and she was nervous. not because she didn't know what to say to the women, she could talk to her about anything and everything for hours, but because of the looming fear that she wasn't actually all that interested in olivia at all, only actually talking to her that one time because she's needed assistance. even with that in mind, olivia still held the door open when she saw those iconic boots walking towards the elevator door.
"good morning" olivia said as the elevator doors closed behind emily
"good morning stranger" the brunette smirked, olivia fighting her very hardest to fight away the blush creeping up her neck
"stranger?" she gasped, hand flying to her chest "i helped you with your umbrella and considering we've shared elevator rides for a month i would hardly call that a stranger, emily"
"you know my name?"
olivia's heart stopped. fuck. she probably looked like a stalker now. 'i need to fix this and fast'
"y-yeah! um. i heard you talking to lucy once" she lied. 'wow, you guys aren't even friend yet and you're lying' she thought to herself."i see, well now i feel bad because i don't your name" emily chuckled
"olivia, but everyone calls me oli. it's just easier"
"why not olivia? it's a pretty name" she smiled just as the elevator doors opened "i'll see you later olivia" and with that she was gone.
"bye emily". she walked to her car, getting in and sitting there before everything hit her at once. emily thought her name was pretty. olivia. it's basic, but emily thought it was pretty. she thought olivia was pretty. she felt her palms getting sweaty, heart speeding up a bit. she smiled to herself for a minute before snapping out of her daze. 'friends olivia. friends'.

usually oli would drive home for lunch, much preferring the comfort of her couch and fluffy blankets to eat alone but it was raining and although she hated derailing from her schedule, she hated driving in the rain home. so now she was in a random 'hole in the wall' café eating soup in the corner as she scrolled through her twitter feed. she didn't go on it much, twitter was chaotic and messy and toxic at times but that was just the steamy drama olivia wanted right now. the tea, as her coworkers would say.
"anyone sitting here?"
she knew that voice. it was the voice she recently had heard but couldn't get enough of. she smiled and looked up at her "i guess now, yeah"
emily smiled back, sitting in front the girl she wasn't sure what to think of other than pretty. very pretty. "i come here basically every day for lunch, it's out of the way but their sandwiches are great"
"this is my first time, i usually go home but it's raining so i walked here."
"i'm guessing your don't work far than?" emily asked, taking a bite of her blt
olivia nodded, quickly swallowing her mouthful of soup before responded "i work at the graphic design firm two blocks down"
"you're a graphic designer?
"yeah" olivia smiled, her job being one of the few things she was truly proud of "i've been there for 4 years. they were the first job that hired me when i moved here and it's a great company"
emily nodded as she listened, liking how happy olivia got talking about something as simple as a job. "so you've been in london for 4 years? where did you move from"
"south florida. miami to be exact" she replied, eating more of her soup "what about you? where do you work? considering you wear basically the same thing every day i'm gonna assume it's a office job?"
emily laughed as she set her now empty plate to the side. "there is nothing wrong with a go to outfit, but yes. i work at interpol"
olivia eyes opened wide, gasping "oh my god, really? you're lying. do you- can i- i mean. can i see like.. your badge?". olivia had never met someone who worked anywhere in the government above a cop. she never really had any good experiences with them, maybe emily would change her mind.
"uh.. yeah! yeah sure" she chuckled, pulling her identification out and showing her
"damn" she was amazed, taking it to look at it closer "emily prentiss. fun!" she smiled, handing it back to her. "so i'm assuming you moved here for the job, but from where?" 'ah yes, pretend you don't already know'
"virginia"
"that's exciting! ive never been but i heard it's nice" olivia replied, checking time and sighing "my lunch is up.... this was really nice though. i had fun" she smiled
"i did too, it's nice not eating alone all the time. we should do this again" emily suggested as she got up, knowing she should of been back 10 minutes ago it couldn't find the will to leave just yet
"wednesday works for me next"
"wednesday is it"
══════════════════════════
monday and wednesday. those were the days olivia cheated on lucy for lunch dates with emily. like they be considered dates? she liked to think so. those afternoons they got to know more and more about one another. olivia learned all about emily's travels, her time in the bau. she learned that rockys was originally from virginia and that's why she eats at it here. emily learned why olivia moved to london, about her sister and nephew, and how she got into graphic design. something about sharing stories with someone that weren't about catching serial killers and faking your own death really excited emily, she liked it. she particularly liked it with olivia the most.
she liked her company. she liked the fact she could talk to olivia without being profiled. she liked that she didn't have to tell her every detail of her life because she didn't care. olivia didn't want to know everything, she didn't pry it out of emily. she only wanted to know what emily wanted to tell.
emily liked olivia.
