Chapter 8

It has been about a week since Nannauck ended up in the med bay due to Snoke's temper he didn't have. After a serious examination it had turned out she had 4 broken ribs, a concussion and some big, serious bruises all over her body. Nannauck, being Nannauck, had already wanted to go back to work the next day. You forced her to stay in bed until she literally pushed you aside and strode back to her chambers. 

Her black eye still catches a lot of stares when you and Nannauck walk towards the canteen. Even though she is still limping, she refuses to take your help. 

The deadly silence is making you nervous. ''So.. Did you do something nice this morning?'' You ask, trying to make a conversation. 

Nannauck glares at you. ''I was in bed all morning. Can't really do anything.''

''It's my fault.'' You sigh before biting your lip.

''No, it's not. It was stupid, yes, but you were just trying to save me. I don't blame you for it.'' Her blue eyes look at yours. The purple shade seems bigger than ever.

''Snoke wants to see you.'' You say while you lick your lips. You swallow in an attempt to get the lump in your throat down. 

She nods. ''Lets just hope it ends different this time.''

You chuckle. ''I'm going to go see Kylo. I'm going to tell him about what happened, with Moore.''

She nods. ''Try not to tell him how we worked together with my sister out of free will, will ya?''

You weakly smile. ''I'll do my best.''

''Guess that means no lunch today.'' With those words Nannauck turned around the corner and disappeared from your sight. You sigh as you turn the other way, towards the place Ren said he would be waiting. 

When you reach the door it automatically opens for you. Kylo stands in front of you with his arms crossed. 

''I see you've finally decided to come over.'' He starts.

''I've been a little busy trying to stop my friend from killing herself, you know.''

He chuckles. It sounds scary through the mask. ''I need to know what really happened. Not the cut version you're gonna tell Snoke. The real version. I can't protect you if you don't.''

You sit down on the floor, with your back against the wall. Kylo follows your example and sits down next to you.

''It's sorta complicated.''

''I have time.''

''Nannauck got a message. From her sister, Shana. She had a lead on who killed their father. It turned out that that person, someone called Alicia Moore, controls that assassin we've been looking for. We followed some leads and found the girl in the end. The resistance has her now. Her name is Kath Caine, some orphan from Eriadu. We suspect she got recruited at the age of six, trained to be an emotionless killer.'' You exhale. ''And there's more...''

''What?'' Kylo asks. He doesn't seem angry at all, for some reason you can't really explore. 

''I take you know about your sister, who escaped two weeks ago?''

Kylo nods slowly. ''Where are you going with that?''

''Caine broke her out. The resistance has her, and no one knows who hired Caine to do it. Neither does Caine, by the way.''

You see Kylo clench his fists. ''Where is this Caine?''

''I already told you-''

''I want to speak with her.''
