Chapter Thirteen
History Sucks
"Holy."
"Fuck." Chelsy concluded.
"He is so sexy." I said as we eyed the new doctor.
He was tall and had a dark brown, almost black, hair color. It was cut short and spiked a little in the front. He has these gorgeous deep green eyes and he was built. You could tell he worked out daily. I think I just started to believe in love at first sight.
I was so busy looking at him, I didn't notice Chris walk over.
"Hey Chelsy, Lauren. This is Garrett, my replacement."
Chelsy smiled and kept it very professional as she said hello. And then there was me.
"Hey." I said shyly and started blushing. The affect this guy had on me was intense. I mean seriously, you should see the way he was standing. He looked like a Greek god or i don't know, superman? Except he is way hotter than superman...
"Well hello beautiful." He said back in a low, scruffy voice. I think I just died.
"I have to go show him around a little more, but we should be back here around six." Chris said and led Garrett away.
Thank God Chris had stepped in because I was feeling a bit faint and I did not want to embarrass myself in front of the... sexy doctor. I want to play it cool. Plus, i'm already on the prowl. I internally face palmed. Oh my God, Chelsy is wearing off on me.
"He so has the hots for you." Chelsy said as she looked at my flushed face. "I guess the feelings mutual." She giggled at my face which probably looked a bit red and starstruck.
"You really think so?" I asked as I grabbed my patient's chart. No matter what, my patients came first.
"Oh yeah. Come back out when you're done and we'll talk." She said and threw me a wink. Chelsy is my best friend and I love her to death. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her.
I nodded and looked at the name.
"Edna Williams." I called as a little old lady with white hair followed me back to the room. Once I set everything up, I turned and smiled at her. "Let's get started." As I took out my stethoscope.
------
I just let my last patient out for the day. She was concerned about her recent shoulder pains. It took me a good ten minutes of questioning her to find out that she plays softball and is the catcher. Well of course she would have problems. I cleaned a few more things up and looked at the clock. 5:45 Perfect timing. I gathered my things and locked my office door before heading back to Chelsy's desk.
"Hey girly." She said as I plopped into the chair next to her. I looked at the waiting room and it was deserted.
"Hey." I replied as my phone went off. Who in the world texts me other than my mother and Chelsy?!
I slid the bar and my phone opened to the home screen which showed a text. A text? From Axel?
Lee, whats wrong? i want to talk this out. I have no idea what you were talking about @ the skydeck today. call me.
"Ugh. Oh no." I said as I read it again. Did this guy seriously not get the hint? I mean, I know he wasn't a genius in high school but this is a bit ridiculous.. he couldn't possibly believe he could keep one of us on the side.
"What?" Chelsy asked and I showed her the text. She shrugged. "Just tell him." She said and went back to typing.
i sighed. Why was it always difficult with him? I looked at the message once more before sighing and typing out my text.
