Chapter 14

Nico's P.O.V.

Will and I leave my cabin and go to dinner. Tonight Grace'll get claimed by Aphrodite. I get my food and sit at my table and Will sits with his. Grace is all alone at the unclaimed table but she'll move once she gets claimed. She gets her food and sits down staring at me. I can feel it but I just look at my food stealing glances as Will as he does the same except he talks to his cabin mates instead of staring at his food. I feel something stroke my leg. It's the cat made out of bones I raised one time when I was alone. He's a keeper. I smile and stroke his back. "Hey Bones." I whisper. He purrs which I'll never understand. "I still don't understand how you purr when you're made out of bones." I say humoressly chuckling a little. He crawls up my arm onto my head and lays there purring like he usually does. Silly little guy. I continue to eat and get a few nasty glares because of Bones. Hey, you like you're pets alive and I like mine dead. They're still pets. I finish up and the invisible waitresses pick it up. I go to the campfire carefully so Bones doesn't fall off. I sit down facing the flames as everyone else finishes. Bones falls asleep and everyone starts piling in excited to find out who gets the new sister. Someone bumps into me and makes Bones fall but I catch him before he hits the ground. He wakes up and I pet him. I turn around and find Clarisse's brother Roger snikering at me. He looks like the boy version of Clarisse except not as bulky. "Oh, I'm sorry, did I hurt gay boy's pet?" he asks. I clench my jaw and narrow my eyes and stroke Bones gently trying to calm him back down. "That's right, I'm gay. You're just jealous I would never go out with whatever species you are. I'd rather go out with the trash." I say with a smirk. He growls and raises a fist when Will intercepts and punches him first, hard. "Don't hit my boyfriend unless you want a one way trip to the infirmary." he growls. Roger rubs his jaw and looks scared. I smile. That's the first time I've ever seen a doctor punch soneone in the face. It was awesome. Roger goes back to his cabin mates shooting glares at me. Will sits next to me and smiles. I smile back and rest my head on his shoulder. "Way to go sunshine, you scared him off to his daddy." I say with a smirk. Will puts his arm around my shoulders. "No one threatens to hurt my Sunbaby unless they want to see the dark side of Apollo. That wasn't even a little part. That's just a clink off of how dangerous we can be." Will says with a triuphant smile on his face. "Remind me to never get on your bad side sunshine." I say with a sly smile. He grins at me and kisses the top of my head. "So what's his name?" Will asks gesturing to my sleeping, purring Bones. "His name is Bones. He's a cat." I say with a smile. Will grins ear to ear. "Cool." he says. We start singing songs and the fire changes color as usual. Grace is up front looking scared and stares at me. It kinda creeps me out. When a love song starts to be sung she's claimed by Aphrodite and the Aphrodite girls start giggling with excitment except Piper. She just facepalms herself. Grace doesn't look too excited either as the curse starts on her. Her clothes turn into a pink, sleeveless dress that reches her knees. It's made out of silk and her hair is done in a fancy way with diamonds in it. She has makeup on and's shivering but Piper lends her her denim jacket that goes with it so Aphrodite allows it. They start chatting and Piper laughs at her.

Grace's P.O.V.

I can't believe I got Aphrodite. Now I look all fancy and junk. I huff and cross my arms irritatedly and start shivering in this stupid dress. A girl with brown hair walks over to me and gives me her denim jacket. "I'm Piper and I know exactly how you feel. It sucks. It wears off in a week and nothing will get it out. The dress is like sewn onto you and the makeup refuses to wash off. The hair just remakes itself and the shoes just stick like glue. It sucks and only comes off in a shower but reappears when you're done. Trust me, I get it. I hate having the goddess of beauty as my mom but I can charmspeak so it comes in handy." she tells me with a smile. "I'm Grace. Thanks for the jacket. I can't believe guys are going to go googly eyes all over me. I just want one guy to do that and he's taken. Why are all the good guys taken?" I ask in a whiney voice hiffing and crossing my arms. Piper starts laughing. "You know, my boyfriend that I have now liked me for me and not how I look. The mist that tricks people into seeing different things tricked me and my friend Leo into believing we'd known Jason for a long time. I even thought I got him to kiss me but I didn't. We still got together though. If ge's the right guy, he'll come around." Piper comforts putting a hand on my shoulder. "Thanks, will you save me from the girls when this curse wears off?" I ask egearly. She nods and I smile. Maybe Camp Half Blood isn't that bad after all.
