Chapter 18

Nico's P.O.V.

I ride Chocolate holding on to his mane. He seems unnerved as we enter the cave. I feel death surrond me. Tons and tons of death. It's unnerving. A chill goes down my spine. Rebecca stares straight ahead determined to save her friend dispite the age. She looks around coutiously as we go deeper and deeper inside. Annabeth holds on to Percy tightly and he has his left hand covering them. She burries her face into his shoulder. "I don't want to go through something like that again." she whispers. Percy nods in agreement. "Nothing was as bad as that. We survived this and Gae. We can survive this." he says determindly. Shivers go down my spine again. The Tatarus is a dark place especially on your own. When you're alone it's worse. They had each other. I had no one. I look at Will as he walks close to me and the pegasus. Then I had nothing to loosebut now I did. I have Will. I grab his left hand as we walk. We clutch onto each other for dear life. "Close your eyes demigod's. We can't see what goes on in this cave." Rebecca says as she closes her eyes. My curiosity gets the better of me. "Why?" I ask. "Trust me." she answers and I know I won't get more than that. I close my mouth along with my eyes as I hold on to Chocolate and Will. We enter and shivers start going down my spine like crazy. I hold on tighter squinting my eyes. "Don't listen to anything. Ignore the sounds." Rebecca warns. Why would she say that? I feel Will'shand shaking. I squeeze it and massage it with my thumb. I wish I could hold his hand. Then I hear the sounds.

It starts off rattling like a snake but then slowly turns into screams. I cringe but hold on tighter to Will's hand. Then they turn into voices. "Why are you even here Nico? You're worthless." Percy voice jeers. "Wh-what?" I ask softly. "He's right Nico. You're nothing. Just a big loser who's gay." Annabeth chimes. "N-no I'm not!" I yell. "Oh yes you are Nico. I don't see why I ever dated a loser like you." Will chimes. I can't help it anymore. I open my eyes. I'm on Chocolate and everyone's staring at me from their horses or standing on the ground. They sniker at me. "Just go die you worthless piece of nothing." Grace says. "Yeah you fag." Rebecca adds. They laugh and I cringe as tears start to roll down my face. "I-I don't understand." I say confused. Annabeth rolls her eyes. "We don't like you Nico. Never have never will. We just pittied the worthless piece of trash that you are." Annabeth says with a smirk. Bianca's spirit appears. "Nico, I never loved you. Why did you think I died? It was basically suicide to get away from you for good. Becoming a Hunter wasn't enough. I just took care of you so people liked me. I never really loved you. It was just an act." Bianca says tilting her head. That tears it. I start to cry uncontrollably while they laugh. I hear someone calling my name but I don't listen. They probably want to make fun of me anyways. After all, I'm just a gay loser who everyone wishes would die.
