Chapter 19

Will's P.O.V.

We start to exit the cave. I feel it. Then Nico starts talking. His hold gets stronger. We exit the cave and Rebecca says we can open our eyes. Nico's eyes are already open. He's talking gibberish as tears stream down his face. I look at Rebecca worriedly. "He opened his eyes. Those voices were meant to make you open your eyes. They were monsters that made you see your worst fear." she explains wide-eyed. I get Nico off. "Nico! Nico! Listen to me!" I yell as I hold him close. His pegasus glares at me but seems worried about Nico. I hold Nico close to me crying into his hair. "Nico, Nico please wake up. Nico, I love you. Please, please." I beg as I cry into his hair. I sob into his shoulder as I'm his only thing supporting him. I move my head back and crush my lips onto his. I love him. I can't have him go. I can't! Maybe I'll wake him up. I feel his lips move with mine. I pull away and hug him tightly sobbing into his shoulder. "Nico! I thought you were lost for good!" I cry out in-between sobs. Nico seems confused."What?" Nico asks. "You saw the dragemee. They make you see your worst nightmare." Rebecca says. Nico hugs me tightly. "So that wasn't real." he says in relief. "No, it wasn't." Rebecca answered. "Thank gods." he whispers as we clutch onto each other. "There's worse to come. Let's get moving." rebecca says. Nico mounts Chocolate and I get on after him. Grace gets on behind Rebecca. We start riding deeper and deeper into the cave where worse things are to come.
